Valvignères: the Crêtes tour
A long and beautiful hike through vineyards, then along the ridges of the Berg forest, offering stunning panoramic views of the Dent de Rez, the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux, the Baronnies, the Vercors, the Montagne Ardéchoise, and more. There are also beautiful views of the villages of Alba, Saint-Andéol de Berg, Saint-Thomé, and the Rhône Valley. To the north is the Coiron plateau with the Tour de Mirabel and Neck de Sceautres.
The ridges of Saint-Andéol-de-Berg
A beautiful hike on the ridges of the Monts de Berg, offering some lovely views. A visit to the well-restored village is a must: cobbled streets with arcades connecting the façades, shops at the bottom of old houses, an old oven. In terms of nature, the town is built at the foot of a typical Mediterranean forest, which offers an astonishing spectacle as you walk through its plots, separated by clapas, lavender, almond trees, mulberry trees and olive trees.
Col de Reboul from Serrelongue
This medium-difficulty hike in the Ardèche mountains will take you to the Col de Reboul with a nice climb, some lovely shaded sections and a descent towards Reboul. You will cross several fords, meet some interesting people and enjoy some beautiful views.

The superb medieval hamlet of Roche is well worth the detour.
Serre Juliau from Alba-la-Romaine
This hike will take you back in time as you pass by the Croix de Saint-Philippe, the Col de l'Épine and Mont Juliau, offering magnificent views along the way. Please note that you will be crossing parks with livestock. Be sure to close the gates behind you.
Le Serre de Montagut from Alba-la-Romaine
From the plain, the Serre de Montagut does not look particularly impressive, but once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Rhône valley, the Coiron plateau and the Alba-la-Romaine plain.
From Alba-la-Romaine to Neck de Sceautres: a great journey back in time
From the ancient city to the largest basalt neck in Europe, this beautiful hike takes you along a route with varied terrain: limestone plains, petrified lava blocks and the volcanic plateau of the Coiron Massif. The Sceautres neck, the jewel of the Coiron, is a basalt plug resulting from an eruption 8 million years ago. Cleared by erosion, it rises 150 metres above the valley.
Terrasses de Bois Sauvage and the hamlet of Pallières
Behind the Dent de Rez, in Ardèche, lies a maze of valleys and hills stretching to the Ibie valley.
Now practically deserted, the area was inhabited and cultivated until the early 20th century.
I invite you to discover the ruined farms of Chambonnet, the ruined hamlet of Pallières and its spring, and above all the hundreds of terraces built on the hillside to make the land cultivable.
The Sainte Baume gorges
A splendid medieval village, a hermit and his cave, a valley in the limestone hills and the views of the Rhône Valley and Mont Ventoux.
Prepare yourself for a nice, family-friendly hike, which will suit everyone.
La Dent de Rez
The high point of Basse-Ardèche, this promontory (719 m) offers a beautiful panorama of the Cévennes, Mont Lozère, the Alps, the Baronnies, Mont Ventoux and the Ridge of Montmirail.
Villeneuve de Berg - The Forêt des Sens
An easy family walk to the "Forêt des sens" (forest of senses), arboretum and interpretive trail created under the impetus of the municipal children's council. A few welcome benches punctuate this playful and instructive walk for all ages.
The Grand Tour of the Bois Sauvage
A beautiful hike on easy trails, with numerous magnificent views of the Ardèche mountains, the Vercors and the Ventoux, discovering the remains of ancient cultures and the forgotten and abandoned hamlet of Les Pallières. A route through areas that were inhabited and cultivated until the 19th century. As a bonus, if the water is flowing, finish with a swim in the Ibie.
Dent de Rez via Baravon
This path, much less travelled than the classic route, allows you to bypass the massif to the north with magnificent views of the Ardèche mountains and the immense wild forest, which is aptly named because it is very, very wild...
It is also the most accessible route for vehicles to reach the summit, but it is of course prohibited to vehicles and reserved for site management personnel; barriers prevent vehicles from crossing.
2025 Bread Festival route from Les Salelles
A very beautiful hike starting from the hamlet of Les Salelles. You will first take a short tour of the hamlet to see the two bread ovens, then continue into the forest and pass by a lavender field. The return trip will be less shaded.
Discover Viviers
Viviers, capital of the Vivarais region in Ardèche, located on the banks of the Rhône, has a beautiful architectural heritage. I suggest a walk to discover the historic centre and the port.
Village and stream of Rimouren
Discover the beautiful village of Rimouren and its picturesque stream, La Conche. You will first walk along the wide and enchanting La Conche stream, dotted with beautiful ponds. A mule track takes you along the bottom of a small cliff to the Bois du Laoul plateau. The hike continues along a forest track, then small paths to form a circular loop and return to the village via the path along the stream. The village then appears before you, above the twisting Conche. An easy hike, accessible to all.
Greenway from Le Teil to Alba
The greenway was inaugurated in December 2025, for the section from Le Teil to the old Alba-la-Romaine railway station, at least supposedly. Bring a light ( headlamp or other) to go through three tunnels, one of which is 900 m long.
Le Teil greenway
From the car park behind the post office in Le Teil, we set off towards the Greenway in the direction of Aubenas, covering part of the route through bridges and tunnels before returning by the same route.
Roche Chérie in Saint-Pons
This route runs along the foothills of the Coiron massif on existing but not very obvious paths. Follow the yellow markings carefully.
The route passes through some beautiful basalt columns, crosses the plateau with its superb panoramic views, then descends via a rocky ridge to Roche Chérie: a remnant of the massif's significant volcanic past. A small chapel is built against the neck.
Roche Chérie via the Orgues de Bauzon
This route runs along the foothills of the Coiron massif on paths that are not marked on IGN maps but nevertheless exist, with very improbable markings.
The path runs alongside the beautiful basalt columns or Orgues de Bauzon parallel to the Chaix stream, then climbs back up to the plateau where the panoramic views are superb. The descent via a rocky ridge leads to Roche Chérie: a remnant of the massif's significant volcanic past. A small chapel is built against the neck.
Les Balmes de Montbrun - Mirabel
Le Coiron is a wild basalt plateau. On the southern side, near Saint-Jean-le-Centenier, troglodyte dwellings were built in the medieval period in the basalt cliffs of Montbrun.
From Saint-Gineis-en-Coiron, a small road winding across the plateau takes you to Mirabel, where you can enjoy magnificent views from the keep.
The only downside is that two-thirds of the route is on paved roads, although there is very little traffic.
