Start from the small car park in the hamlet of Haut les Crozes, located below the junction of Chemin de la Blache and Chemin des Olivettes.
(S/E) From the car park, reach the fork at Chemin de la Blache and turn left onto Chemin des Olivettes. At the "La Blache" crossroads, take the grassy path towards Chambeyrol/Beylon, going around the last house on the right. Continue between the fields and then into the forest. Descend to the Chambeyrol river. At the junction with a wider path, turn right and cross the ford.
(1) At the three-way junction, follow the wide path on the right that climbs up to the next junction. As you climb, Mont Rond is on your right. At a crossroads (elevation 218), continue straight ahead on Chemin de Piffaut.
(2) At the fork, take the right-hand path, which is better marked, and go around the ruins of buildings on the right. Climb up, stay on the main path until you reach the hamlet of Piffaut and ignore the paths branching off to the sides.
(3) Leave the hamlet of Piffaut on your left and take the path on the right that climbs towards the pylons. Pass under a high-voltage power line twice and you will reach a fork.
(4) Turn left (south) onto theGR®42and follow the ridge line to the next fork.
(5) Leave theGR®42and turn left to enter the national forest. When the path turns right, take a trail on the left. Make a wide circular loop clockwise and you will come to a T-junction.
(6) Follow the wide path to the left. Descend, staying on the main path and ignoring a few side paths. Observe the many cedar trees that were introduced several decades ago because of their excellent adaptation to the soil and summer drought. After several hairpin bends, you will reach a crossroads that you took on the way there.
(1) Continue to the right, cross the ford and then take the path on the left. This will take you to the hamlet of Haut les Crozes (S/E).
