The Bois d’Ajude

This walk, starting from Les Salelles, will take you through the woods along well-maintained paths. It offers a chance to get away from it all and is a great way to discover the charms of this woodland. There is a short climb at La Combe Billiaire, which you’ll need to go over.

Description of the walk

Start from the car park by the rubbish bins.

(S/E) Leave the car park, head left, turn left after the bridge, then carry on straight ahead to the junction.

(1) Turn right, follow the stream and continue along this path, keeping to the left.

(2) At the Y-junction, veer left then carry on straight ahead. You can take a break at the 180° right-hand bend. There’s a superb spot there.

(3) Turn left heading due south at the fork, then take the first right. At the crossroads, carry on straight ahead, ignoring the paths to the right and left, until you reach a four-way junction.

(4) Turn left, join the forest track below, veer right and return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(1) Carry on straight ahead along the path you took on the way there and head back to the car park (S/E).
