Parking in front of the Charantonnay village hall.
(S/E) Walk up Avenue du Bourg towards the church, go around it on the left, and continue to a dirt track on the left between the houses.
(1) Take this path down towards the fields and continue to Maison Guinet, passing two small, poorly maintained service roads.
(2) Take the tarmac road on the right and continue north-east. Leave Chemin des Engrives on your right, then immediately turn left at the three-way junction. At the next junction, continue straight ahead.
(3) At the next three-way junction, turn left. Walk past the waste collection centre and continue north on the road.
(4) At the end of the road, cross Chemin de la Tiercerie and take the dirt track that climbs up to the left towards the hill. At the junction with the small tarmac road, turn right, then leave a path on your right and continue to the three-way junction.
(5) Turn right towards the charming little hamlet of La Froide, which you will cross. At the end of the hamlet, continue along the tarmac road on the right (do not take the dirt track opposite which descends towards Comberousse). At Bois Doncieux, the road turns into a stony path along the ridge to the orientation tables.
(6) Continue to the Croix de Bénédict.
(7) Take the road that descends to the right, then right again. Follow the hill to the first intersection. Turn left onto Chemin de la Butte. Leave Route de la Forêt on your left, then the dirt track on your right, and continue straight on to the houses.
(8) Take the dirt track that goes up the hill to Jacqueron. In the hamlet, take the road opposite via Chemin de la Bassière towards La Baume.
(9) Turn right onto Chemin de la Ferme Fleurie, which you will cross (leaving Chemin du Langot on your right), and continue to the Étangs des Grenouilles.
(10) Cross and go up Chemin de l'Étang. Turn right and continue straight ahead, passing Boucle du Vernay on your left, then Taillis de la Dame on your right, then Chemin des Engrives on your right.
At the first three-way junction, turn right, then left at the second (elevation 388). Descend into the village. Turn right, then left to walk alongside the schools and return to the village hall (S/E).
