Departure from the car park of the Arche community hall.
(S/E) With your back to the community hall, turn right to go up Chemin des Bersoudières, then turn left and walk along the cemetery. At the next crossroads, continue left towards Bonnefamille and pass the hamlet of Le Rual.
leave the road and take the path that climbs to the right. At the next three-way junction, take the left path which leads to a plateau. Enter the woods and keep to the right at the junction. The path descends the hill and rejoins the road.
(2) Cross carefully and take the protected path on the left that runs alongside it. At the crossroads, turn right onto the dyke around the pond and immediately leave the road to follow the path that climbs up to your right. Look for a small path on the right, a few metres before the top and the edge of the woods.
(3) Follow this path and go around the meadow on the right. Then continue along the path on the left until you reach the road.
(4) Cross the road and take the wide path that climbs up opposite, slightly to your left. Reach the top of the hill and cross over to the other side. Halfway down, turn left to join the road at a wayside cross. Cross over and continue along the road opposite for about 200 metres.
(5) Leave the road by turning right along a small pond. The track remains flat before you turn left onto the tarmac road which climbs steeply. Don't miss the statue of the Virgin Mary on your left halfway up the slope, which will reward your efforts! The slope levels out. The lazy ones will turn right into the valley, while the brave ones will continue on the path that makes two 90° right turns, and everyone will meet up at the next crossroads.
(6) Continue straight ahead on the path, which joins a road a little further on. Turn left onto this road and climb to reach the highest point of the route at an altitude of 456 m. The road turns into a carriageway. Just before reaching the Croix de Bénédict crossroads, take a break at the orientation table, which offers a 360° panorama.
(7) Take the road in front of you and continue in the same direction to cross the hamlet of La Tiercerie (sometimes spelled Tiercery). Continue until you reach a pedestrian crossing on your right.
(8) At this point, leave the road and take a path on your left which, depending on the weather, offers superb views of the Alps. A path branches off to the right into the fields. Continue straight ahead to descend into the woods.
(9) At the bottom of the descent, leave the path and take a trail on your right that runs along the bottom of the hill through the woods. Pass a path that branches off to the left and climb slightly before turning left downhill and crossing between two fenced meadows. After a final short climb, you will be back on the tarmac: the car park is 200 m away on your left (S/E).
