Park in the car park at the Halle de Tharabie in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier.
(S/E) Walk to the Médian, a multi-purpose and performance venue.
(1) After passing this venue, turn left. Cross Boulevard de la Noirée and turn right onto the cycle path until you reach the next set of traffic lights. Turn right towards the underpass beneath the railway line.
(2) Please note: this underpass is narrow; watch out for cars
After passing under the railway line, turn left towards the new cemetery to reach the Montée des Charrières. After the cemetery, follow the path to the left, running alongside the railway line, until you reach the junction by the stormwater basin.
(3) Head off to the right and walk alongside the basin, which is protected by a wire fence. Leave the basin and, at the top, turn left, then take the first right towards a road underpass.
(4) Go through the tunnel, then turn right onto the stony path. At the next junction, continue left, slightly uphill.
You’ll see a basin with a tapped spring on your right; keep going straight on and continue uphill until you reach a large old house on the right.
(5) Turn left in front of this house. After turning left, continue for about 30 metres, then take a narrow path on the right into the woods, past the fence. Follow this path uphill. At the fork, continue straight ahead (do not go up to the left). Continue to Fallavier Castle.
(6) Take the very narrow staircase and enter the château.
Walk round the château and go down the main access path to the ‘Chemin de Saint-Pierre’ road.
Carry on to the left for a few dozen metres, then turn right between the two stone walls. Follow the path, taking care on the descent.
(7) At the bottom of the descent, veer to the right and pass the wooden bridge on your left
With the stream on your left, carry on until you reach a wooden footbridge on the left; cross this and walk alongside the pond on your right. Carry on until you reach a wooden plank walkway and continue straight ahead onto the fitness trail. Follow this path, cross a arched bridge and turn left near the gate.
(8) Turn onto Rue de Merlet. At the end of this street, turn right for 30 metres, then left onto Rue de la Pépinière.
At the three-way junction, turn right onto Rue des Muguets, go under the railway line and you’ll then reach the original junction at Le Médian.
(1) Turn left and follow the route you took on the way there to return to the Tharabie Sports Centre car park (S/E).
