Start from one of the car parks in the village centre around the town hall. Walk to the edge of the village towards Roche, passing Les Revellins and then Le Molard.
(1) Turn right onto the carriage road (Chemin de Meximas). When the road bends 90° to the right, continue straight ahead before turning right into the woods. Join the original path and continue left to reach a road.
(2) Turn left, then left again onto the path behind the house. Follow the stream to reach the roundabout above the Didier Pironi Gymnasium in the Fougères district of Villefontaine.
(3) At the roundabout, take the path on the left that runs alongside a building and then a housing estate before becoming a road and descending to the right. Turn left and you will arrive at the centre of Saint-Bonnet de Roche.
(4) Cross the stream and turn left. On the right is the pretty little chapel of Saint-Bonnet. Keep left to climb gently and then more steeply before the road turns into a path (Chemin de Trâble). You will arrive at a place called Maison Lassale.
(5) Continue straight ahead before taking the wide path on the left. Pass a first path on the right, then asecond, and turn left. Ignore athird path on the right (at the entrance to the woods, not marked on the map). Now follow a path that descends steeply above a house.
(6) At the bottom, turn right and follow the stream, continuing along the road past Baize (on the map) to reach the D124.
(7) Follow it to the left, taking care on the bend, and return to the fork in the road from the outward journey.
(1) Retrace your steps in the opposite direction to return to the car park near the town hall (S/E).
