In days gone by, the monks of Bonnecombe Abbey, near Rouergue, used the “Chemin des Moines” to transport various produce they grew around a barn south of Castanet.This path winds through a landscape of copses, vineyards and traditional farmhouses that characterise the hillsides of Albi. This route is a shortened circular route of the so-called official 21 km route.

Set off to discover the different types of dovecotes in the Ségala, following a themed route. These dovecotes were essential, through their production of guano, for enriching the soil in the cultivation of woad, which was the emblem of the Pays de Cocagne. Some are of simple construction, whilst others, more imposing and integrated into large estates, bear witness to the wealth of the pastell growers of yesteryear.

Two medieval villages offer an interesting heritage: Monesties, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and Salles-sur-Cérou with its picturesque red sandstone houses.

This pleasant short walk will introduce you to the old village of Castelnau, its tower, its church and other elements of its architectural heritage. You will also discover the ridges among the vineyards, which offer panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and the city of Albi.

On the right bank of the Tarn, Castelnau-de-Lévis is a walk between ridges, plateaus and hills with remarkable views of the surrounding valleys. A beautiful architectural heritage of half-timbered houses, dovecotes, crosses and a castle.

The green lung of the Albigeois region, the Saint-Quintin Forest in Cagnac-les-Mines is a paradise for walkers. A walk to discover the castles near Cordes. The Château de Cazelles was an advanced defence for Cordes. The Château de Livers dates from the 15th century and owes its charm to the Renaissance. The route only follows wide paths and trails.

A pretty lake, a few beautifully restored houses and a small chapel nestled in a valley dot this rural route, not to mention the numerous viewpoints over the town of Cordes, classified as a Grand Site de Midi-Pyrénées.

Starting from the small village of Fayssac, this easy hike takes place in gently rolling countryside where cultivated fields, meadows and vineyards share the landscape. On a clear day, the view stretches as far as the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees. The route alternates between wide paths and small, mostly quiet tarmac roads, which do nothing to detract from the feeling of calm and tranquillity that prevails throughout.

Route proposed by the Maison Sport Santé of the OMEPS in Albi. A walking route in the heart of Albi, linking the two banks of the Tarn and allowing you to discover the city’s main iconic sites. Two levels are available to suit everyone’s abilities and goals. The easy route is designed to get everyone moving again. It involves walking to Rochegude Park, going round it, then returning to the starting point, the footbridge. The intermediate route extends the walk towards Pratgraussals Park, allowing you to gradually increase the duration and distance. These routes allow you to reap the initial health benefits, even with a limited amount of walking, provided you walk regularly and at a moderate intensity (between 4,000 and 7,000 steps a day). They form part of an initiative to promote daily physical activity, demonstrating that the benefits appear well before reaching 10,000 steps.

The 'Jardin de la Berbie' garden, the Parc Rochegude, a route along the 'Ruisseau du Caussels' stream, a stroll along the Tarn river and, of course, the architectural highlights of Albi beautiful pink city, all enhance this urban tour.

Cordes... a magnificent Albigensian fortified town, to be discovered from the rolling trails of the Causse. PLEASE NOTE: The millstone caves are on private property and access is now prohibited.

The route skirts Cordes-sur-Ciel from south to north, offering a variety of views of the city of a hundred spires. The route is rich in contrasting natural environments: the Chapelle Saint-Jean and its wild green setting, the Clayrac millstone cave, the old-fashioned charm of the village of Vindrac, the landscapes of the Causse, and the tranquil banks of the Cérou.

This loop allows you to visit the Chapelle Saint-Jean, an endearing place with a strong link to the history of Cordes-sur-Ciel. The tour ends in the tourist centre of the bastide town of Cordes for a well-deserved visit and break.
