Description of the walk

Leave Carmaux via the D988, then turn left towards Canitrot and right at the sign for the lake.
Park in the car park below the road.
Signpost at the start. This route can be done in either direction.

(S/E) On leaving the car park, turn right and continue to the footbridge, which you cross. Follow this path to the Route de la Roucarié.

(1) Take the road on the left, then carry on straight ahead, ignoring all the paths on the right.

(2) Carry on to the left, passing the organised beach and the refreshment bar (closed in winter).

(3) Take the road on the left, then, when you reach the dam, cross it and keep going to the left.

(4) Ignore the road on the right, go past the barrier on the left and carry on along the lake, passing the water sports centre. Continue gently along this small road by the lake to reach the car park (S/E).
