Park in the car park at the Halle du Foirail du Castelviel.
The entire route will be signposted in yellow, except for the customised section.
No markings
(S/R) Head towards the shops at the north-east corner of the car park. Take Rue de Gardès, between the disused bakery and the Le Troll brasserie. Views over the Tarn, an old mill and the Pratgraussals leisure park.
You’ll come out onto a small square on Rue de Canavières.
(1) Turn right. Continue to the junction formed by a triangular traffic island with a small, solid stone cross.
Yellow markings
Proceed very carefully along this road. View of the cathedral and the plain, on the right. Pass through Canavières Haut. Continue gently downhill to the Y-junction at Colletou.
(2) Keep to the right. Continue to the Petite Forêt Maraîchère market garden.
(3) Turn left onto Chemin Bas de Canavières. You’ll come to a farm building on the left, just past the Michel Vigné greenhouses.
In front of the building, take the narrow dirt track. The track rejoins the tarmac at Chemin du Haut Colletou.
Carry on straight ahead. Walk alongside golf hole no. 4. Join the Chemin de Lasbordes.
(4) Turn right. Walk between the driving range and the golf course. At the Fork in the road in front of the driving range entrance, stay on the road. Head towards the golf course entrance.
(5) You can enter the golf course to visit and admire hole no. 13, including the tee and fairway.
On leaving the golf course, rejoin the route to the right. Cross the Chemin d’Enjalbert.
(6) Continue straight on until you reach the bottom of the valley. You’ll come out onto Rue Sainte-Carême.
(7) Turn left. At the next junction, turn left (follow the route sign) onto Chemin des Fargues. Pass by a dovecote at the foot of a mule track. Continue on to Chemin d’Enjalbert.
(8) Keep to the right-hand side of the track. At the lay-by in front of Chemin Bas des Issards, head straight up the opposite side. Ignore Chemin des Issards, which you’ll cross on your right. You’ll reach Chemin des Serres on your right.
No signposting
(9) Head up this path. Pass the car park. In front of the entrance to the municipal greenhouses, turn left into the Cité Nouvelle des Issards housing estate. Head up the Allée des Amandiers. Finish on Rue de Canavières. Head right towards the small square at the first point of the circular route.
(1) Head slightly to the left. Retrace your steps to return to the Halle du Foirail du Castelviel (A/D).
