La Jubaudière walks

In the woods of La Gautrèche and along tree-lined paths, you’ll discover a rural and bucolic landscape characteristic of the Mauges region. The great diversity of landscapes will make for a rich and varied walk.As this route covers a large part of the Jubaudière area, it will allow you to discover a town with many different facets.

A magnificent walk along the River Évre and its mills: the Moulin Neuf and the Moulin de Pomail

This hike will allow you to discover the most beautiful aspects of the Mauges landscape while exploring places steeped in history. The first part of the trail takes you on a bucolic walk along the Beuvron River to the Château de la Morinière. Next, you will head to a place that is the stuff of dreams for any lover of Vendée history, a sunken path straight out of the stories of the Vendée wars: the "Chemin des Canons" (Cannon Path) used by the Republicans.

A pleasant route through the Andrezé countryside, allowing you to discover the Étang de la Couderaie, the ruins of the Château des Hayes Gasselin and the Manoir de la Chaperonnière.

The Èvre, the river that flows through the Mauges region before joining the Loire near Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, provides a pleasant setting for walks through vibrant farmland. La Bouëre de l'Èvre is a lovely lake that has been developed for leisure and fishing; it is accessible on foot from the village, about 800m away.

The paths of La Poitevinière welcome you around its streams.

On small rural roads and numerous farm tracks, you will discover landscapes alternating between panoramic views and wooded valleys. This two-sided route allows you to start by travelling along small roads offering wide panoramic views of the Maugeoise countryside.The hike then takes you to the Èvre river. You can admire the winding course of the water through the fields and rocky hillsides.

The Montatais Trail will take you on a tour of La Chapelle-Rousselin, its wind farm, its lake and its narrow streets.

Combine the pleasure of walking with the discovery of one of the most captivating episodes in local history. This route invites you on a real journey back in time. It was against this backdrop that the final act of Jean-Nicolas Stofflet’s life unfolded. A former gamekeeper for Count Colbert de Maulévrier, he became one of the leading figures of the Vendée uprising before being ambushed and arrested at daybreak, wounded by Republican bayonets. Amidst the typical landscapes of the Mauges and significant historical sites, this route takes you to the scene of a historic night that changed the region’s history forever.

Pleasant circular route around Saint-Léger-sous-Cholet that takes you past three streams. This route can be done by mountain bike as there are good sections of road and the other paths aren’t too narrow.

Walk in and around Trémentines from the hamlet of L’Étang: head down towards the Old Bridge, then follow the meandering course of the River Èvre, go round the ruins of Château de la Forêterie and return via the Étang de la Florancière.

Take a stroll through the countryside of the Mauges region along this route. You’ll pass through vast agricultural areas and get a close-up view of wind turbines. You’ll also have the chance to wander through open fields, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this rural landscape. Wooded areas with paths lined by hedgerows and trees will offer you a cool respite and immerse you in a more intimate atmosphere.

New walk: In the footsteps of the Petit-Anjou (historic train), created by the municipality of Beaupréau. Route starting from the former Beaupréau station, now Place du 8 Mai, towards La Chabossière

A long walk around Trémentines, along the Èvre, starting with the Sentier Végétal de l'Èvre, then along paths and small roads that wind around farms, fields and properties, ending with the streets, alleys and cul-de-sacs of Trémentines.

Discover the peaceful countryside of the Mauges along this rural trail. You can enjoy the delightful setting of the rolling Mauges countryside as you pass through shady wooded areas. You’ll traverse a variety of landscapes, from country lanes with unobstructed views of the fields to sunken paths lined with oak trees. Near the car park, you’ll find the remains of an old mill, now a memorial to Jean-Nicolas Stofflet, a general in the War in the Vendée.

A beautiful loop, passing by two beautiful bodies of water, around Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges and Saint-André-de-la-Marche, forming the commune of Sèvremoine, alternating between main roads (very few), small roads, dirt tracks for tractors, and a few footpaths.

A lovely walk featuring stream crossings and passing by large bodies of water such as the Étang de Green Cross. You’ll have the chance to discover the largest standing stone in Anjou. On site, you’ll find the legends surrounding this imposing menhir, explained on information panels.
