Le Moulin Neuf in Beaupréau

On small rural roads and numerous farm tracks, you will discover landscapes alternating between panoramic views and wooded valleys. This two-sided route allows you to start by travelling along small roads offering wide panoramic views of the Maugeoise countryside.
The hike then takes you to the Èvre river. You can admire the winding course of the water through the fields and rocky hillsides.

Description of the walk

Departure Rue Sainte-Anne, Chapelle Sainte-Anne, in Beaupréau.
Follow the red markings throughout the hike.

(S/E) Go down Rue Sainte-Anne, then turn right towards the tunnel under the D742.
Take the Chemin de la Combe, then the Haut Pré, and you will arrive at the Beau Soleil path.

(1) Continue straight ahead, taking a farm track across a field. At the end of this track, turn right onto the small road called La Voie. At the end of this road, after about 500 metres, you will come to the Moulin Neuf lodge. Continue on and cross the Èvre via the Moulin Neuf bridge.

(2) After the Moulin Neuf bridge, turn left onto a grassy path that runs alongside the Èvre for almost 2 km.

(3) The path separates from the Èvre. Go up a hill, then turn right. You will come to a road called de la Versenne. Follow it to the right, then take the dirt track opposite, which runs alongside the farm.

(4) Take the small road on the left, called Le Quasimodo, then turn right at the T-junction after Le Fénil to reach the road called Coin des Pierres Blanches. Continue until you reach the junction at a place called Le Pré.

(1) Return to Beaupréau via the same road you took on the way there, but in the opposite direction. (S/E)

At point 3, we had some doubts because this intersection was closed before and there is another path further on that goes up to the right.
A pleasant walk along the Evre after the Moulin Neuf.

I did this hike in the summer of 2021.
The bridge located at WP (2) is really very pretty.
Then along the Evre as well.
Around point 3, the route marked on the map does not correspond to reality.
I had to leave the banks of the Evre earlier than planned.
But you follow a path that brings you back to the official route.
The path is well marked.
Note that there is an alternative route that extends to the Moulin de Pomail, but it is not really worth the detour.
You then return by road to rejoin the original route
