Starting from the village of Tournoux, hike to discover the upper military remains of Fort de Tournoux: the Fort des Corres battery, the Serre de l'Aut fort, the observation post and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Chapel, via a ridge trail with remarkable views.

This hike takes us to see the largest concentration of blue thistles in the entire Alpine arc.

A circular route that passes by a summit offering panoramic views of Buëch, Dévoluy, and Gapençais, all starting from a picturesque little village: a very promising itinerary.

A pleasant trail nestled at the bottom of a gorge running alongside the Rif Bel leads to the heart of a valley. Until 1880, this trail was the only direct access between Guillestre and the hamlets of the Val d'Escreins, before the road from Vars was built.

There are several ways to circumnavigate this mountain: closer to the summit or further away. But this suggested route allows you to walk around the Argentera via the lakes and the King Victor Emmanuel II trails, always with a view of the Argentera and, of course, a comforting stop at the mountain huts every evening. The stages are fairly well balanced in terms of the effort required, so let’s set off on the tour.

Between Lac de Serre-Ponçon and the hills, come and discover a loop that takes you closer to the history of this region. At the bottom of the creeks are viaducts and tunnels that are visible when the lake level drops! A loop that will be completely different depending on the season and the level of the lake!

Tucked away in the heart of the Narreyroux valley is a small cabin that has been renovated for walkers.

A very varied circular walk above the Durance valley. After visiting a hut where you’d love to spend some time, the path opens out onto a stunning panorama taking in L’Argentière-la-Bessée and Le Pelvoux. Then descends through a forest that was ravaged by a massive fire on Monday 7 July 2003, which engulfed 350 hectares.

This hike is first and foremost an opportunity to discover a little-known heritage and practice of forestry, namely cable transport. This ancient practice dates back to the 1930s and has been partially restored by Mr Pierre Para. The "cabrette" is the common name given to the pylon that supports the cable. Of course, throughout the hike, the view of the south face of the Pic de Bure and its east pillar (opened by René Desmaison in three days in September 1961) will be remarkable.

A hike that allows you to discover France’s first experimental site run by the ONF’s Mountain Land Restoration Service (RTM). The first dam built to curb erosion caused by the torrent dates back to 1868 and, following its success, this example was replicated throughout France. Along the trail, you’ll find fun, interactive explanations in hidden caches. This is the Sens’Actions Trail. A delight for young and old alike.

A beautiful circular trail running along a ridge above the Roux, allowing you to reach Valpréveyre via a short detour to the hamlet of Pré Roubaud. Discovering the architectural heritage will be the highlight of this hike

This circular loop allows you to discover the varied landscapes of the foothills of Mont Guillaume, not to mention some beautiful views of the Embrunais region.

What a rich heritage is on display all along this circular route. A railway heritage where trains have never actually run. Right from the start at the Gare car park, don’t look for the station – it was never built. Roman heritage along the magnificent Roman road in this mountainous region. Heritage relating to water management: aqueducts, canals and waterwheels. Agricultural heritage unique in France: the Champsaur mountain bocage. Built heritage: a chapel, a bread oven and farmhouses. In short, you can explore all this heritage at your own pace.

A magnificent hike in the Navette valley. You are invited to discover beautiful heritage sites, bearing witness to a vibrant way of life up there in this hanging valley. And, on the way back, let yourself be surprised by the torrent as it flows through the heart of the rock.

A lovely circular walk in the Pays des Écrins: chalets and balcony trails that give you time to admire the foothills of the Pelvoux. The pleasure of walking through a stunning landscape. Take time for a refreshing break at the Cabane de Chouvet. A truly beautiful walk awaits you up there.

The Auzet Mountains will charm you, not because of their high altitudes or steep gradients, but for something else entirely. For in the Auzet region, the term ‘Mountains’ refers to the mountain chalets that most farms used to own up there. And it’s well worth a visit.

What a surprise to come across this cave-like hut nestled in a small valley – it makes you want to see more! And so it continues throughout this walk, taking in mountain passes, mountain pastures and the charming village of La Valette, typical of these low-lying Alpine valleys.

Roche Charnière is a peak visible from all over the Durance valley between Eyglier and La Roche-de-Rame. It’s very tempting to climb up and have a look. Once at the top, a breathtaking panorama awaits you. The Écrins, the Queyras, the Guillestrois, the Durance Valley, the Tête de Gaulent, the Tête de Vautisse, the Viso… I’ll stop there, but it’s up to you to continue and feast your eyes.
