Verzé walks
The Montmain Cross
Marked route in the hills above Verzé, between Mâcon and Cluny.
Starting from the Rampon quarry, you will cross the woods of Verzé and then climb up to the Croix Montmain. You will follow the Chemin des Chevaliers (GR®) with a magnificent view of the Val Lamartinien and the castle of Berzé-le-Chatel. On the way back, you will cross the hamlet of Les Tardys. The circular route ends with a picturesque path offering views of the pastures.
Around Saint-Maurice-de-Sathonay
This walk, with its slight incline, is ideal for stretching your legs if you've got a couple of hours to spare.
Mont Saint-Romain - Blanot - Étang de Crue starting from Azé
From the Azé Caves car park, climb up to Mont Saint-Romain, then take a circular route around Blanot and return via the Étang de Crue. Enjoy a 360° panorama from the roof of the Mont Saint-Romain inn and a beautiful view from the orientation table above the Azé caves.

This hike largely follows the yellow-marked Mâcon Tourisme route (14 km | 4 hours 40 minutes on foot), which can be downloaded here, and another part of the Crêtes route, marked in blue from Mère Boitier to the hamlet of Les Guérins.

From Col de la Percée to Mont Saint-Romain
A pleasant walk offering beautiful landscapes and viewpoints, between forest and meadows bordered by low dry-stone walls. The steepness is very gradual on the first part of the walk, allowing you to reach the summit of Mont Saint-Romain without any particular difficulty. On the return journey, the slopes are steeper, but never unmanageable. A perfect walk for those who want a good outing but don't want to put too much strain on their legs.

The Green Beaujolais
This hike allows you to discover the upper Beaujolais region. The route is varied, passing through vineyards around the village and woods. It leads to the Rontécolon orientation table, the highest point of the route, and passes through the Col de la Sibérie, where there is a memorial to the martyrs of the Resistance.
