Panoramic car park at Les Deux Roches in Solutré-Pouilly.
(S/E) Head towards the Museum of Prehistory.
(1) Continue along the marked path towards the Roche de Solutré, passing archaeological remains.
(2) Then take the path to reach the summit of the Roche de Solutré.
(3) Admire Mâcon to the east, the Saône Valley and, on a clear day, the Alps. To the west is the Roche de Vergisson, to the north is the Beaujolais region and to the south-west is the Val Lamartine. Descend.
(4) At the crossroads, turn left towards Vergisson. Cross the village.
(5) Turn right to join the climb towards La Roche, which starts on the left.
(6) Head downhill to the northeast to reach the western slope, then continue on Chemin des Buis until you reach La Crouze.
(7) Reach Combe Poncet via Tillet, then turn left onto Chemin Tillier LaCrouze.
At the D177, turn left.
(8) Cross Combe Poncet, ignore the road on the right and climb up towards the Crêtes du Torvon (Croix Levy) by taking the path on the right.
(9) Take one of the Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle paths and theGR®®76(red and white markings). Walk south-southwest to Creuse du Vernay.
(10) Then pass the Grange du Bois.
(11) Take a slight detour left then right onto the D31, then take a small road and rejoin theGR®®76Don the D627 road. Continue on theGR®® until you reach the junction with the D31.
(12) Walk parallel to this road for 300 m.
(13) Turn left towards Bois Denis.
(14) Cross the Rompay vineyards.
(15) Find the path to Mont de Pouilly on the left.
(16) Descend north then west towards Grange Murger.
(17) Return to the car park (S/E).
