Pointe de Chalune via Chalet Blanc
A must-do and very popular hike in the Sommand area. Located at over 2,000 m, the Pointe de Chalune is accessible and does not present any particular difficulty. However, don't underestimate the 578 m climb to reach the summit, a small plateau topped by a cairn, where you can enjoy a 360° panorama.
Pointes de Chavasse and Chalune traverse
This is an interesting circular loop that crosses the Pointes de Chavasse and then Chalune, with extensive views of the Northern Alps along the way. The elevation gain is not very significant, but the climbs are steep, particularly the one up the West Couloir of Pointe de Chavasse, which alone justifies the "very difficult" rating.

The ascent then leads to the Col de Vernant with a distant view of the Cirque du Fer à Cheval, then to the Tête du Pré des Saix itself, which offers a remarkable panorama of Mont Blanc and its massif, as well as the other surrounding massifs.
