Access: Les Gets resort. Cross the resort and go up Route des Chavannes to the Chavannes car park.
(S/E) From the Chavannes car park, walk past the Chavannes hotels and head towards the golf course along a wide path. Climb to 1,523 metres, turn right towards Le Grand Pré and descend through the forest to Le Grand Pré.
(1) Pass in front of the Troncs chairlift and stay on the road. At 1,333 metres, take the road on the right. At the first bend, you can climb through the forest to the Pré Facre chairlift (to avoid the road), which overlooks the resort of Morzine.
At Les Raverettes, turn right and climb up the wide path towards Lac de Nyon Guérin or Col de Joux Plane. The climb is gentle along a path that passes under the Pointe de Nyon (2019m). Continue along the path to Lac de Nyon Guérin (1620m).
(2) Walk past a building and continue straight ahead across the meadow to the crossroads indicating the direction of Col de Joux-Plane on the left (do not follow the direction of the Joux Plane chalets). Descend to a path on the edge of the forest on the right. Cross another meadow. Reach the pass via a steeper climb to 1712m.
Admire the magnificent panorama of the valley and the various peaks: Nyon and Angolon.
(3) Descend to the lake, go around it and take the road to Morzine. Stay on the road until you reach a path at an intersection before the Ranfolly chairlift, which is opposite a restaurant (indicating hiking routes).
(4) Turn left, go around two bends and continue straight ahead, ignoring all the paths on the right and left, to reach Les Chavannes (S/E).
