Fontsalade Valley and Roche Branlante
Circular route south of Rochefort-Montagne, around the Ruisseau de Fontsalade valley, passing by a volcanic curiosity, the Roche Branlante. Please note, there are many roads on this route, although they are very quiet.
Stream, waterfall and mountain pastures of La Graille
Short hike in the Ruisseau de la Graille valley, with a passage over the top of a waterfall, then a return via the mountain pastures, home to cows.
Puy d'Ébert circular
Short circular route starting from the pretty hamlet of Saint-Martin-de-Tours. Le Puy d'Ébert is a volcanic cone that rises 500 m above Rochefort-Montagne. It is a very small puy, but it offers beautiful views of the Chaîne des Puys.
Around Notre-Dame-des-Fers
Walk around one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Auvergne. In addition to the basilica, you will discover a pretty hamlet, Saint-Martin-de-Tours, a rocking stone, and also, on the heights, a magnificent panorama of the Chaîne des Puys and the Massif du Sancy.
The Fontsalade Valley and the Roches Tuilières and Sanadoire
A circular route mainly through forest, with the sound of numerous streams flowing into the valley. The route passes at the foot of the two iconic "sentinels" of Le Guéry, although you can't really see them because they are hidden by the forest. It is not until you reach the hamlet of Cros that a surprising landscape is revealed.
Les Roches Tuilières and Sanadoire
After a fairly challenging first section through the woods, the second part of the circuit is more peaceful and higher up, offering magnificent views of the Roches Tuilière and Sanadoire, real geological curiosities, and the tranquil valley of the Ruisseau de Fontsalade.
La Banne d'Ordanche and Puy Loup via the Borne des Quatres Seigneurs
An unmissable viewpoint over the surrounding mountains, the Banne d'Ordanche, with its orientation table, allows you to locate yourself in relation to the Monts Dore and the surrounding massifs. Don't forget to take a detour through the summer pastures to the Borne des Quatre Seigneurs and then on to Puy Loup with its renovated circular shelter.
Circular Banne d'Ordanche from the Refuge de la Banne
A pleasant and accessible circular route starting from the Refuge de la Banne, allowing you to reach the 1,512 m altitude of the Banne d'Ordanche. The summit offers a remarkable panorama, from the Cantal massif to the plateaus of Corrèze and the Dômes mountains.The return journey is via the western slope, passing by one of the sites of the Horizons summer art exhibition.
It is possible to do only the round trip from the refuge to the summit (see variations).
From Lac de Servières to Puy de l'Ouire
Follow the GR®30 on one of its most beautiful sections to reach Lac de Servières, a pretty glacial lake with a path around it, at Puy de l'Ouire, which offers magnificent views of the Guéry site and the Roches Tuilière and Sanadoire from its summit. The route is a round trip, with clear views of the Chaîne des Puys and the Sancy massif over much of the way.

A circular starting from Lac de Servières takes you to the ridges, where you will have magnificent views of Lac de Guéry, La Banne d'Ordanche and the Sancy ridges. The climb is gentle on a forest road and the descent follows theGR®30trail, where walking poles will come in handy.
Sioule Valley via Polagnat Castle
On the Plateau des Dôme, a circular route passing through traditional villages, a beautiful castle and a pretty site on the banks of the Sioule, offering beautiful views of the Chaîne des Puys.
La Banne d'Ordanche

The Lac de Servières from the Lac de Guéry
The Lac de Guéry, of volcanic origin, is the starting point for this hike. At 1244 m, it is the highest lake in Auvergne. Along the way, you'll follow the ridge to the Lac de Servières.

The villages of Vernines
A loop on the Plateau de Dôme, starting from Vernines and passing through several hamlets where the inhabitants have preserved the traditional way of life, with fountains, wash houses, blacksmith's forges and communal ovens. A few sections on small roads at the end of the route, which are very quiet and offer unobstructed views of the Chaîne des Puys.
The Ribeyre Forest starting from Vernines
A circular route on the Plateau des Dôme passing through the Ribeyre Forest and numerous hamlets that have preserved their traditional built heritage. Unobstructed views of the Chaîne des Puys on many sections of the route.
Orcival via the Dôme plateau from Vernines
A circular route on the Dôme plateau and its hamlets, descending into the Sioulot valley where Orcival and its jewel, the Basilica of Notre-Dame des Fers, are nestled. Some beautiful views of the Chaîne des Puys.

Discover the thermal springs of the Dordogne
Starting from La Bourboule, this hike follows the spring trail along the banks of the Dordogne. Halfway through, you can either retrace your steps or go via Rigolet Bas as described below.
This hike allows you to discover thermal springs such as the Félix Spring and the Croizat Spring.
The Labadeau Valley
Hike on the high plateau of Pessade offering beautiful views of the Chaîne des Puys and the Massif du Sancy, with the Labadeau stream as your guide from its source to Saulzet-le-Froid.

A very beautiful and varied hike, between 1,300 and 1,500 m, which can be completed in half a day, in medium-altitude mountains (pastures, forests, peaks). We will set off from the Étoile du Sancy in La Bourboule and head to the ECIR Chalet in the resort of Mont Dore, passing through Capucin, Puys de Cliergue, La Tour Carrée and Val de Courre.
The Puy de l'Angle via the ridges south of the Col de la Croix Morand
For anyone from Auvergne, the Col de la Croix Morand is inextricably linked to Jean-Louis Murat, who sang about it better than anyone else (and who was also the only one to do so!). Starting from the pass and heading south, you walk along the ridges and cross a few puys in a magnificent setting of wide open spaces and panoramic views of the volcanic Auvergne, witha"deep feeling" of freedom.
Vendeix, the stream, the rock and the hamlets
A circular route on the south side of La Bourboule, following the Vendeix, a tributary of the Dordogne which you follow during the first part of the hike, which is also the name of a small basalt spur, the Roche de Vendeix, and two hamlets. After passing by the Rocher de l'Aigle, which offers a breathtaking view of La Bourboule, the hike ends with a visit to some of the must-see sights of this small spa town.

The Montmeyre and Ceyssat ferries
Short hike to discover the bacs, which are drinking troughs built on the solidified lava flow of Côme for the sheep that were once raised on these summer pastures. The Bacs de Montmeyre were also a favourite site for the Ardents, Resistance fighters from the Chaîne des Puys. A sign tells their story and a memorial stone has been erected in their memory. The route crosses countryside and forest and allows you to discover the small heritage linked to water in the village of Ceyssat.
Solidified lava flow of Côme from Ceyssat
The hike takes place mainly in the forest that covers the solidified lava flow of Puy de Côme, but there are some beautiful views on the outskirts of Ceyssat. In the village of Ceyssat, discover the Foker Spring and a rich heritage of water-related buildings: fountains, drinking troughs and wash houses.
