From Lac de Servières to La Banne d'Ordanche via the Puy de l'Ouire

Park in the Lac de Servières car park.

(S/E) Follow the wide track to the shore of Lac de Servières.

(1) Go round the north side by taking the path on the left, quickly joining the^GR®30. You will then come to a crossroads of paths.

(2) Leave the lake shore by continuing left on the^GR® (red and white markings). Climb up to Puy de Combe Perret, skirting the forest. Climb over the fence using a ladder and continue skirting the forest. Ascend a steep slope to the summit of Puy de Combe Perret.

(3) Climb over the fence using another ladder, then turn 90° south, following the^GR®30to the path junction below Puy de l'Ouire.

(4) Climb Puy de l'Ouire by taking the path opposite.

(5) Return to the previous junction.

(4) Take the^GR®30to the right, initially skirting the forest, then re-enter the woods to reach the Col de Guéry.

(6) Turn left and walk to the shore of Lac de Guéry and back.

(7) Return to the previous junction.

(6) On your return, turn left onto the wide track, leave the^GR®30here and you will soon reach a Y-junction.

(8) Take the left-hand branch, stay in the forest and, at the edge, you’ll find a new three-way junction.

(9) Continue straight ahead across the large mountain pasture and along a gently ascending path to reach a new junction just before the Ferme du Puy May.

(10) Keep left and you will easily reach this farm.

(11) Continue westwards to reach the Col Saint-Laurent junction.

(12) Turn left, for a round trip, onto the path to reach the Banne d'Ordanche via the wooden steps.

(13) Return to Col Saint-Laurent via the same route.

(12) On your return, head straight ahead and take the almost straight path that leads to the Borne des Quatre Seigneurs.

(14) Continue straight on to reach the summit of Puy Loup.

(15) Now turn right onto an easy descent that takes you back to the crossroads you passed on the way up, the one before the Ferme de Puy May.

(10) Turn left and follow the route back in the opposite direction to the outward journey, returning to the junction of the two tracks.

(9) Leave the route you have already taken and take the track on the left. You will reach a crossroads with several directions, including the discovery trail.

(16) Take this path on the left, leave it after a few metres and take a shortcut on the right. Join the discovery trail shortly afterwards and follow it to the Col de Guéry.

(6) Then retrace your steps along the route you took on the way out; do not climb up to the Puy de l’Ouire, but continue along the^GR®30, following the red and white markings, to return to the Lac de Servières car park (S/E).

Lunch available around 1 pm by the shores of Lac de Guéry if setting off at 10 am from Lac de Servières.
