Departure from Mont Dore, Avenue de la Bourboule near the church.
(S/E) Head towards Le Queureuilh and turn right onto Route de la Prends-Toi-Garde.
(1) Pass the landscaped cemetery and continue along theGR®®4E, passing by the Rossignolet waterfall.
(2) Continue to the RD983 and cross it to reach the Ferme de la Tache.
(3) Continue towards the Col de la Croix Morand.
(4) Before the pass, turn left towards Puy de Balladou.
(5) Shortly before the puy, turn right towards Buron, Le Regardet.
(6) A few hundred metres before the buron, turn right (downhill and through the undergrowth), followed by an uphill climb that takes you along the edge of the woods.
Pass by a radio relay station (on the right) and then an old car wreck.
(7) At the intersection, turn right until the next crossroads. There, take a steep and technical descent to reach the village of Mareuge on the left.
(8) Cross the village and take a hilly path on the right.
(9) Cross the Labadeau stream and arrive at the entrance to Saulzet-le-Froid.
(10) Shortly before this village, turn left onto theGR®®4-GR®®441to reach Pessade.
(11) Follow the cross-country ski trails back towards the Col de la Croix Morand.
(12) Pass the Puy de la Védrine and return to the fork in the road from the outward journey.
(5) Continue straight ahead, following the route in reverse until you reach the (S/E).
