Neuville walks

A peaceful hike through rolling countryside criss-crossed by brooks and streams, through woods and pastures.

The hike first takes you up the Franche Valeine stream, where you can admire the beautiful, large waterfalls dotted along its course. After a connecting section, you descend to reach the Ruisseau des Rochettes gorges and waterfalls, then rejoin the Franche Valeine and follow it upstream to the car park where the hike began. Most of the route passes through wilderness areas untouched by human activity.

A pleasant route in the hills above the Dordogne valley, with some lovely views, starting from Monceaux, an interesting village with its traditional houses.

Walk along the Xaintrie Noire and Gabariers trails in the shady undergrowth between the Roche and Clauzel streams. The trail is marked in yellow throughout and numbered (6).

This beautiful circular trail first takes you up to the heights overlooking Argentat. Enjoy beautiful views and discover the pretty hamlet of Aumont. In the second part, along the banks of the Dordogne, the trail takes you through the quayside district of Argentat and continues to a nature reserve. At the end of the trail, you cross the Dordogne via the Sablier dam.

A beautiful hike on a sunny slope of the Dordogne valley, where the fast-flowing waters of the Glane river run, dominated by the village of Servières-le-Château, renowned for its architectural heritage.

A circular route starting from Meyssac towards Chauffour-sur-Vell along paths and small roads. Wash houses, fountains, springs and beautiful buildings adorn this fairly easy hike.

A hike along beautiful wooded paths or pastures to discover an unusual sundial.

From the Dordogne valley, a path leads up to the heights of Altillac, south of the Xaintrie. The shared influence of Quercy (on the houses) and Cantal (on the barns) can be felt in the village.

Loop around Meyssac and Collonges-La-Rouge to discover the geological fault that has left a deep mark on the ground. Red sandstone to the north and white limestone to the south will take you to the Chaise du Diable (Devil's Chair) where you can rest before diving back into the valley.

A very pleasant hike close to a colossal structure built by the monks of Aubazines in the 12th century. This circuit also allows you to discover a dolmen, a dry stone "village" built by a hermit, the Puy de Pauliac with its orientation table and its cromlech. The Canal aux Moines skilfully follows the curves of the hill for about 1.5 km and feeds a reservoir in the abbey enclosure. In the past, the waterfall was used to power the monastery's watermill.

A very pleasant hike close to a colossal structure built by the monks of Aubazines in the 12th century. It is a truly exceptional work. This route also allows you to discover the ruins of the Aubazines Women's Monastery. The Moines Canal skilfully follows the curves of the hill and feeds a reservoir in the abbey enclosure. In the past, the waterfall was used to power the monastery's mill.

This easy hike will take you along the Canal des Moines in a bucolic, shaded setting, starting from one of the prettiest villages in Corrèze.

Walk around Collonges-la-Rouge.

This path through the hills above Collonges shows you how the village was supplied with water until the mid-20th century. Along this circuit, there are several points of historical interest with audio commentary available via audio terminals.

This route consists of two circular loops, one 6 km long and the other 9 km long, which can be done independently. They are marked in yellow from the town hall in Cornil. The first passes along the banks of the Corrèze and the arboretum, while the second offers a long stretch through the forest. The whole route is fairly shaded, which can be pleasant in summer. A short detour allows you to admire the ruins of the castle and the church overlooking the village of Cornil.

A loop, mainly through woods, starting from the charming and picturesque sanctuary of Notre-Dame de Belpeuch, which means "the beautiful mountain". Located in the heart of the Xaintrie, it contains a magnificent statue of the Virgin Mary, dating from the 15th century. There are a few steep slopes, but the walk is pleasant. Good walking shoes are necessary.
