Around Puy Turlau

Starting from the hamlet of Le Breuil (in the commune of Végennes) and heading towards Puy Turlau, park in the small car park at the start of the Way of the Cross.

(S/E) Take the Way of the Cross path and climb up to Puy Turlau.

(1) At the top, go back down to station no. 13 to take the path that leads downhill. Turn right and join the Route de Maille.

(2) Turn left and follow this road to Route de la Sourdaine.

(3) Turn right and continue to the next crossroads where you will see a cross. You will pass the village of Curemonte in the distance.

(4) Turn right onto the road that climbs towards a place called La Gironde.

(5) Leave the road and turn left onto a path that leads to La Borie. You will then come to a road that becomes a track and leads to a crossroads.

(6) Turn right and head towards Route des Puys.

(7) Continue straight ahead on this road, passing through the hamlets of La Tronche and Breuil.

(8) Take the path that descends to your left and continue until you reach a fork in the woods.

(9) Turn right onto the path that climbs back up to your car park (S/E).

The Way of the Cross at Puy Turlau, once used by the faithful on Good Friday.

Don't pass through the area without visiting the magnificent village of Curemonte, famous for its castles and three churches.
