Lectoure walks
Medieval Lomagne
Following in the footsteps of the past, this route gives you an insight into the architecture of the region through the sites of Lesquère, Pitrac, Les Galis and Arton. Depending on the season, you will pass fields of garlic, onions and melons, and cross vineyards on the gentle slopes of the Lomagne region.
Lectoure, via the northern slope of the town
This easy little trail north of Lectoure allows you to explore the northern side of the town, following small streams.
Walk from La Hune through the Touron and Groussan valley
A short walk on the southern flank of Lectoure, in a wooded and hilly environment, following streams. Very pleasant for a spring outing with the family, in an almost alpine landscape!
Double circular figure-of-eight loop around Castéra-Lectourois
A first circular route to the north of Castéra-Lectourois, then the second part to the south, following the shaded and refreshing meanders of the River Gers and discovering the Moulin de la Mothe.
Around Aurenque
A very beautiful walk from the hamlet of Aurenque, along the Gers, through the pretty Petit valley, on the ridges overlooking Castelnau d'Arbieu, which offer a superb view of Fleurance and the surrounding villages, as well as the Pyrenees mountain range.
Terraube, Marsolan, Lagarde via l’Auchie
A winter route along the tarmac-surfaced but very quiet local roads will take you to the three beautiful villages of Terraube, Marsolan and Lagarde-Fimarcon. Fortified villages of the Lectourois region, rich in ancient stonework and historic houses, nestled along the gentle slopes of the Lomagnols.
Via Sempesserre from Sainte-Mère
This easy route alternates between roads and paths between two beautiful Gascon villages: the recently renovated village of Sainte-Mère with its Gascon castle, and the village of Sempesserre, with sweeping views of the rolling countryside typical of the Gers region.
Las Costes in Castelnau-d'Arbieu
A very pleasant circular route, beautiful views of the valleys and, halfway along the route, a wide panorama of the Pyrenees on a clear day. Castelnau-d'Arbieu, a picturesque little village where silence reigns supreme when the boules court is still deserted.
Castet Arrouy - Castelnau-sur-l'Auvignon
Thirty-sixth stage of the Camino de Santiago. For this stage, due to the rain and mud making the paths difficult and slippery, I preferred to avoid the town of La Romieu. You are under no obligation to follow my route and, weather permitting, you can stay on theGR®65and visit La Romieu. On this somewhat long stretch, you begin to catch sight, in the distance, of the Pyrenees mountain range and the inevitable crossing into Spain looming ahead! After passing through Lectoure, the melon capital, there are ascents and descents as you move from one valley to another.
Circular route starting from Sempesserre
Panoramic walk around Sempesserre, a charming village in the Gers with a few half-timbered houses and the tower of one of its two former Gascon castles, where General Lagrange was born – a notable figure from the village who served during the Revolution and the Empire.
Perissé Mill
This is an easy, short hike starting from the car park at the cemetery in Fleurance, returning there at the end of the walk. Half road, half path, it is a very pleasant walk.
Around La Romieu, from bottom to top
Circular walk from La Romieu, the village of cats, to the Jardins de Coursiana in the south and then the Bois de Broustès in the north.
Scent trail around Blaziert
Blaziert is a picturesque little village, ideal for a nice picnic break before or after your hike. The route offers varied scenery throughout, dotted with vineyards, sunflower fields in July and beautiful houses in the valleys of Ténarèze.
Castelnau-sur-l'Auvignon – Montréal-du-Gers
Thirty-seventh stage of the Way of St James. On this fairly long stage, you start off walking along undulating, grassy paths to Condom, a small town steeped in history and full of life. Your route then takes you over hill and dale, surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards in the Armagnac region, to Montréal-du-Gers.
Please note: in wet weather, some sections can be very muddy and slippery.
Circular walk between Monluc and the Gèle via Guilleton
A pleasant walk starting from the village of Saint-Puy, crossing the River Gèle – a tributary of the Baïse – several times. The walk offers beautiful views of the village of Saint-Puy, La Sauvetat and the Mas d’Auvignon. No major difficulties, but a lovely way to explore the Gers countryside.
