Description of the walk

Park in the estate car park, which is open to all hikers.

(S/E) Turn right and join the D303.

(1) Cross carefully to take the road opposite. You will reach a junction at a place called Prétricou.

(2) Turn right onto Chemin d'Aurio, which leads towards the village of Réjaumont. On the descent, there is a viewpoint overlooking the town of Lectoure. Continue to the farm garage.

(3) Take the small grassy track on the right which leads past the castle and onto the village square in Réjaumont. Cross the square, pass to the left of the church and go down the road to the left-hand bend.

(4) Turn right onto the Lou Camin’art path. This village track was restored in September 2017 during a community work day as part of a policy to preserve the environmental heritage and to create a creative project inspired by land art. At the end of this path, join the D123 at the hamlet of La Croix.

(5) Turn left, follow this road with care to reach the hamlet of La Forêt, and turn right. Follow the edge of the Réjaumont Forest until the first junction.

(6) Follow the grassy path to the right, leave the forest and join a small road near the hamlet of Farjac. Head right towards the houses.

(7) Turn left, head down to the pond and, at the end, take the path on the right at a 90° angle. Continue along this dirt track until you reach a crossroad.

(8) Turn left and continue to the junction with the D148.

(9) Cross carefully and follow the Route du Bourrou straight ahead. This ridge path offers a beautiful view of the Pyrenees to the left.

(10) Walk past the ruined mill and continue straight on along the ridge road for about 400 m.

(11) Turn right onto a dirt track running alongside the hedge, keeping the estate in sight. Walk along the right-hand side of the small lake and head back up to the estate to return to the car park (S/E).

Good hike for walking, but not much of interest along the route, lots of straight lines..
And the estate was closed on Sundays...!

A lovely day's walk for us – a group of people in their 70s and 80s, but still in good shape
We adjusted the route without any trouble to make it an ‘8’, setting off in the opposite direction towards the north so we could return to the village for a picnic by the cars before heading south again in the afternoon
Lovely scenery and an easy route to follow
There’s something missing from your descriptions – picnic spots, as this makes for a lovely social break for us to take during the walk

A route through the Gers countryside with a very warm welcome at the Domaine d'Embidoure. Please note that between points 7 and 8, near the pond, a sign has gone missing. You must continue along the path that climbs after the pond and turns 90 degrees to the right. Similarly at point 11, the marker post has been pulled up; at the pond at the bottom of the path, follow the tree-lined avenue along the ploughed field and then go round the pond on the right. No problem finding your way if you follow the route on your GPS.
