The route was interesting, but we took a detour to look at the cave and also to avoid walking on the road.

The first 4 km are on the road, which isn't very interesting.
Then we arrive at the most interesting part in the forest.
There is a 1 km stretch between two fields with tall grass and 1.5 km of road to finish.
Too much road for my liking

A very hilly and varied route through orchards, with a bit of road walking. The weather was fine, and we caught a glimpse of the Pyrenees before taking the fascinating karst trail, which followed a section through the forest. We were lucky to do this just before the wood pigeon hunting season began on 1 October, which would have altered the route.
Don’t forget to stop, before the final climb into the village, to see the Gothic fountain. We finished the walk by looking for Angeline’s cats around the square, followed by a visit to the collegiate church.
Our group of 15 people thoroughly enjoyed the day.

A pleasant route, especially from point 3 onwards. Lovely sunken paths and beautiful stretches through the forest.
It’s lovely to be able to visit the pretty village of La Romieu and, above all, its beautiful collegiate church.
Thank you for this route.
