Hultehouse walks

A beautiful walk on the slopes of the Zorn Valley, where you will discover breathtaking landscapes, the ruins of Greifenstein Castle, the Saint-Vit cave and the Gallo-Roman site of Wasserwald. Actual elevation gain: 534 m.

It's a fairly long route of just over 20 km, which can be done on foot or by trail running.These 20 km offer a wealth of diversity, including trails, an abandoned canal, landscapes, rocks, tunnels and a castle.A route that is well worth exploring. If it is too long, it is quite easy to split it into two parts.Although the route is long, it is fairly easy to follow. Most of the paths used are marked by the Club Vosgien.

A beautiful hike with numerous castle ruins, including Haut Barr, known as the "eye of Alsace", and a trail through a forest with stunning autumn colours. The trails are very well marked and maintained by the Club Vosgien.The elevation gain is significant, so take this into account to fully appreciate all the charms of this hike.

This route is a treat for those who love narrow paths and the peaceful atmosphere of the forests of the Northern Vosges. There are several beautiful viewpoints and rocks along the route. You will also discover the archaeological site of Wasserwald, where our Celtic ancestors, known as the Mediomatrici by the Romans, lived more than 1,500 years ago.

This hike starts in the valley and climbs into the forest, passing several viewpoints over the Alsace plain. The Brotsch Tower and three castles are worth visiting if you have time, as is the tower of the old Chappe telegraph. The entire walk takes place in the forest. Beautiful sandstone and puddingstone rocks line the route.

This hike takes you to Lutzelbourg Castle with its view of the village of Lutzelbourg and its "Canal de la Marne au Rhin". A mixture of forest paths, trails through the woods and across fields. There is a little tarmac, however, for crossing the villages.

The Dabo region is a magnificent green setting with a few villages located on the heights of the Vosges mountains. Starting from Hellert, you will discover the Chapel of St Fridolin with its baptistery, the Pfannenfels and Sickerkopf rocks, which offer a magnificent view of Dabo and its rock, the St Martin border marker and finally the troglodyte houses.

Set off to explore the sights around the Rocher de Dabo, a historic Celtic, Roman and medieval site.

Discover the beautiful ruins of Ochsenstein Castle after walking along the impressive rocky outcrops of Wuestenberg, Krappenfels and Schlossberg. The first part of this hike is on a well-shaded path, while the second part offers magnificent views of the Alsace plain.

This short walk will take you to the sandstone "table rocks" typical of the Northern Vosges, with a visit to the medieval Ochsenstein Castle, perched atop one of these rocks.

A very pretty undulating loop trail with various options for the return.Paths in the undergrowth run alongside or through beautiful, imposing pink sandstone rocks: Schoenfels, Pfannenfels, Kelchfels, Marguerite, Grotte des Francs Tireurs and, optionally, Neubaufels and Seebfels.

Starting from an old mill in the hollow of a valley, set off to discover the magnificent Dabo Rock. As you hike, you will see it from different angles. You will be charmed by the magnificent landscapes and local heritage.

Apart from the slightly steeper climb from the Gloriette du Geissfelwasen to the Rocher du Geissfels, this short hike is not difficult and is very pleasant, despite the last kilometre before the finish being on the road. The view from the Geissfels is 360° and well worth the detour.
