An easy walk through Lyon via the Saint-Jean district, up to Notre-Dame-de-Fourvière, the Saint-Georges district and, finally, near the traboules, these narrow passages between the houses of the Saint-Jean district (see the websites for guided tours).
A visit to the Roman amphitheatres is included, as well as a stop at the Jardin des Curiosités, a little green gem with one of the most beautiful views of Lyon.

This route allows you to walk along the banks of the Saône on the way there and the Rhône on the way back.
Along the way, we will enjoy the sights of the peninsula (the writers' wall, the Lyonnais wall, Place des Terreaux, the town hall, the opera house).
Halfway through, we will walk around the Parc de la Tête d'Or.

The most beautiful views of Lyon from Fourvière and Croix-Rousse

You will pass by many of Lyon's must-see churches, monuments and theatres. You will climb up to Croix-Rousse through almost all of the traboules (covered passageways) on the hill. A truly peaceful route with virtually no cars.
A lovely tour of Lyon and its hills, taking in both of its hills
This day-long itinerary, featuring an optional but almost obligatory lunch break in a good Lyon restaurant, allows you to explore Lyon from below but, above all, from above, via its two hills, Fourvière and La Croix Rousse. A circular route of 17.8 km or less (15 km) if starting from Saint-Georges. Numerous tourist attractions and notable sites in Lyon line this route, offering a feast for the eyes!
A half-nature, half-city walk starting from Lyon Saint-Irénée

Starting from the Fort de Lyon Saint-Just, 500 metres from the Saint Just funicular, this is a half-nature, half-city walk. It passes through several parks and the pretty little Razes valley, followed by a nature trail along the Thiện Minh Pagoda. There is a beautiful view of Lyon and the Alps from the Esplanade Lichfield in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon.

A breath of fresh air in Lyon between the Saône and Rhône rivers.
This urban yet bucolic walk allows you to discover the wild banks of the Rhône, the new Passerelle de la Paix footbridge, the Croix-Rousse tunnel in a gentle way, the newly developed banks of the Saône and the market garden plateau that supplies the city.
The starting point is indicative. The walk can begin and end at virtually any point along the route.
From the Balcon de Saint-Clair to the Parc de la Tête d'Or
Starting from the heights of Cuire, this route first takes us past a viewpoint with sweeping panoramic views, then along the pleasant Balcon de Saint-Clair. After a steep descent, we cross the Rhône and stroll past modern sculptures. Crossing the Parc de la Tête d'Or is an opportunity to admire a renowned rose garden and visit the Île du Souvenir (when accessible). Finally, we climb steep stairs to return to the starting point.
The stairs of Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon
Sainte-Foy is a commune with rugged terrain. To see this for yourself, simply walk up and down the many staircases. So I've put together a short route with six staircases to climb. What could be better? To be done at a leisurely pace or as a trail run.
Between the quay and the plateau at the departure point in Caluire-et-Cuire
A semi-urban walk between the Rhône quay and the plateau, to see another side of Caluire-et-Cuire and Rillieux-la-Pape.
The Greenways and parks of Champvert
This circular route offers maximum greenery and minimum tarmac in an almost 100% urban environment, right in the heart of Lyon. The three green sections are the parks of the 5th arrondissement town hall and La Passerelle, the Champvert Greenway and, finally, an unexpected path along the motorway, above the entrance to the Fourvière tunnel. The asphalt-free section accounts for around 80% of the total, which is rather nice in the middle of the city!
Circular between Caluire and the Mont-d'Or communes
Hike to discover the balmes (caves) of the Saône, cross the valleys and hills of the rich properties of the Mont-d'Or communes and return via Ile Barbe before climbing back up to the Jean Moulin Museum.
On the hillside between Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon and Oullins
An urban walk avoiding roads as much as possible, passing through woodland, along a river and back into woodland. Parking available at the start. Accessible by bus from Oullins. A chance to enjoy some greenery near Lyon and see the Roman siphon bridge at Beaunant. Suitable for children.
The two forts in Irigny
A half-day walk with very little elevation gain on the plateau west of Irigny between the Forts de Champvillard and Montcorin, passing through Charly and Vourles.
Circular Val de Saône in Sathonay
Walk starting from the church in Sathonay-Village. Slight incline, easy walk for families. You will be able to see animals at two points along the walk: horses, donkeys, chickens, geese and ostriches.
Mont Thou and Mont Cindre from Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or
An easy loop starting from Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or to reach the heights of the Monts d'Or towards Mont Thou. The return route passes via Mont Cindre. There are some lovely views and several drystone shelters to discover along the way.
Islands, Jaricot and Ciselande sandbanks in Vernaison
This walk will take you through the agricultural plateau and then along the banks of the old Rhône. The restored Jaricot and Ciselande floodplains are home to beavers.
Golf du Verger circular in Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon
Easy country walk with a beautiful view of the Alps if visibility is good. Best enjoyed outside of summer as there is little shade.
