Park in the car park opposite Fort de Champvillard.
(S/E) Head towards the fort entrance on your left. Walk around the fort on the left, admiring the moat, escarpment and gate. Cross the road, pass to the left of the roundabout along the car park, then follow the protected pedestrian area along the D127 heading north-west.
(1) Take the path on your left and follow it to a tarmac road.
(2) Continue straight ahead on the path opposite, Chemin de Buye, until you reach a tarmac road and a cycle path. Continue straight ahead on this road. When you enter the town of Charly, take the pavement on the left. Then follow the road to a stop sign.
(3) Take the street on the right: Chemin du Cotentin. Immediately after, turn right again onto Chemin de Béard, which is a one-way street. Continue straight ahead on this street, which becomes a path. Pass two small paths on your left, then take the third path on the left, which is larger, towards Étang de Virieux, Chemin de la Lalande.
(4) Carefully cross the D117, then continue to the pond and walk along its left side. Follow the path into a copse, then continue along the path to the left, skirting a field. At the next intersection, turn right. Continue after a 90° bend, follow the path on the left, then, at the end, turn left again and finally take the path on the right under the power line.
(5) Follow it to a large wall and walk along it on your right. You will then come to a tarmac road.
(6) Follow it to the right, staying close to the road to avoid cars, until you reach the junction with the D117, shortly after a secondary school on your left. Cross the roundabout and follow the road to Vourles opposite. Continue straight ahead, passing a path with a barrier on your left and taking the next left.
(7) You are now following the route of the Deux Forts race, which takes place every July. Follow the path, keeping to the right a little further on, to join the D127.
(8) Turn left onto it, then immediately follow the path on your right. Keep to the right, then turn right again, passing a refuge. Shortly afterwards, on the descent, enjoy the view of Lyon in good weather. Finally, turn right again to reach a tarmac road.
(9) Follow the road to the left, Chemin des Piochettes. After 150 metres, take the small path on the right into the bushes, opposite a hut and after a gate on the left and a concrete kerb on the right. Continue left uphill and discover the Fort de Montcorin. Continue straight ahead, then after a car park and a road on the right, take the path on the right that runs alongside the ditch. Follow the path as close as possible to the ditch and, further on, in the small wood, take a path on your left that will bring you back to a road. Follow it to the right.
(9) Then turn left onto Chemin des Fouillouses until you reach the hamlet of Les Rochettes.
(10) After a 90° bend in the road to the left, follow the path opposite on the left-hand side of the road. Then continue by taking the path on the right, under the power line, to return to the point on the D127 road.
(1) Cross the road carefully, then take the path on the left that runs alongside the road to the Fort de Champvillard car park (S/E).
