Park on Chemin de Crépieux in Caluire-et-Cuire.
Note: the route is almost entirely marked with yellow signs.
(S/E) Turn your back on the greenway house, cross the road and take the Voie des Dombes. Pass a series of garages.
(1) Turn left onto Rue Pasteur-École. Cross Rue Pasteur and take the path opposite. Follow it to the right, alongside the car park of a building, until you reach Avenue Alexandre Fleming.
(2) Turn right, then cross the small park on the left (yellow markings) to reach Avenue Élie Vignal. Take it on the right until you reach the climb up to Petit Versailles. Go down this street to Grande Rue de Saint-Clair.
(3) Cross Chemin de Wette-Faÿs and Place Henri Demonchy to arrive opposite the Passerelle de la Paix. Head left towards the Saint-Clair rose garden.
(4) Before the entrance to the rose garden, go down the stairs on the right towards the Quai du Rhône, which you will take to the left. Pass under the railway bridge, then under the Raymond Poincaré bridge. You will reach the unique river tidal power station.
(5) Continue along the quay. You will reach the northern ring road.
(6) Pass under the ring road, but be sure to stay close to the "Hawaï-sur-Rhône" wave. Continue along the quay, pass the barrier, and continue to the right until you reach the leisure area. Go left under the railway line and then climb Chemin du Ravin (a little steep but not too long) to a place called "Vieux Crépieux".
(7) From there, follow the signs on the right towards the "Piscine du Loup Pendu" swimming pool, Chemin de la Buissière. At the roundabout, cross the Route de Genève and then the Route de Strasbourg.
(8) Go up Chemin de la Chapelle (to the right of the chapel) then follow the signs to the Piscine du Loup Pendu through the villas, with beautiful views of Lyon and the Alps in the distance.
When you reach a Y-junction, turn left onto Chemin des Bruyères. At the end of this road, turn right onto Chemin de Chalamont, then left onto Rue des Quatre Vents, then right onto Chemin du Champ de Lière and finally left onto Rue Gabriel Ladevéze.
(9) Cross Avenue de l'Hippodrome and enter the sports centre. After the mini roundabout, take the path that runs alongside the tennis courts and stay on this path until you reach Rue Pierre Fallion.
(10) Go straight ahead onto Rue des Mercières. Cross over the railway tracks.
(11) Turn left onto a path that joins the Voie des Dombes. Continue straight ahead until you reach the Maison de la Voie Verte (S/E).
Beautiful hike: greenway, banks of the Rhône with tidal turbine barges, the Hawai wave, etc.
