Pasaia-San Sebastian - Amara along the coastal path
Leave your car in Hendaye and take this superb walk along the coastal path using the TOPO.Get off at Herrera station and head for the harbour of Pasaia-San Pedro, the starting point of the coastal path.Pass by Mont Ulia and its leisure park. In San-Sebastian, make a detour to Monte Urgull, with its fortress, monumental Christ (it's Rio) and view of Santa-Klara Island and the bay.
Return to Amara station and take the TOPO to Hendaye.
Jaizkibel - Coastal path - Cape Higuer - Our Lady of Guadalupe
The walk is located in the northern part of Mount Jaizkibel, along the ocean to the Fig Tree lighthouse, returning through the forest, Fort and Guadalupe Chapel.
Pilate's Balcony
A round trip to discover the spectacular Balcón de Pilatos.
The more adventurous can venture up for the superb views that give the place its name, but there are no marked paths and the slope is severe.
From Portlligat to Cap de Creus
Did Salvador Dali, who lived in Portlligat for many years, often travel to Cap de Creus via the camino viell del far? This path hasn't changed much since it was the only overland route to Spain's most easterly point.
The route winds its way between low dry-stone walls, linking the many "calas" along the way. Some of these offer small, secluded beaches, a welcome invitation to take a dip in these rugged surroundings.
The Mendaur from Aurtitz

Legate from Lekaroz (Baztan)
Legate (870 m) is one of the most picturesque peaks in the Baztan valley. Located to the North of Elizondo, the view from the summit is 360°, with Askolegi dominating the Bertiz park. Below, a majestic calvary leads the way back to the hamlet of Lekaroz.

Roncesvalles loop via Burguete
A beautiful loop around the hospitable center of Roncesvalles, an important stage in the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.Roncesvalles is called Roncesvalles in Castilian, or Orreaga in Basque.
The route passes through the village of Auritz (in Basque) or Burguete (in Castilian).
Peña de Oroel in a loop
One of Jaca's great classics, the ascent to the Peña de Oroel cross can be enhanced by a beautiful ridge route and a wilder forest descent than the round trip via the normal route. Magnificent 360° views all along the ridge.

A loop starting from Puerto Otsondo
On this 10km route, which is not very physically demanding, you can admire the Bastan valley and the Elizako Erreka stream. There are also sheepfolds, the calm of the Basque mountains and encounters with pottoks and ponies.
Canals of a thousand and five hundred steps
An atypical course, with a gradient reminiscent of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "snake that swallowed an elephant".
The climb up the stairs may be a little rough, but the journey along the canal is very pleasant.

Munagirre loop

The Labetxu valley in Jaizkibel

Los Tres Barrios: discover the white villages
The 3 white villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira in Spain's Sierra Nevada are linked by a well-marked footpath that allows you to admire the region without much difficulty for walkers. The welcome is warm, the walkers rare and the scenery magnificent. Unique views from the opposite shore, inaccessible to other tourists in vehicles.
The Jaizkibel aerials from Our Lady of Guadalupe
The entire route follows the ridge of the Jaizkibel, with beautiful views on both sides.Not recommended during dove hunting season.
Loop around Mallos de Riglos
A variant of the tour of the Mallos de Riglos, already described in Visorando, which offers beautiful views of the Pyrenees and a return via a spectacular balcony path, El camino de Solano.
The Askar, then the Argandoita, via the thousand-year-old oak tree
A beautiful hike that takes us to the magnificent village of Urdax, then up twice to admire the surrounding peaks from which we can even see the ocean.Last but not least, the thousand-year-old oak tree is a sight to behold.
Otsondottiki from Urdax
This loop is known as SL-NA-15 Otsondottiki. It climbs from the Urdax monastery to the Otsondottiki Pass on a forestry route.
Otsondottiki means little Otsondo in Basque, the Col d'Otsondo (pass) being situated a little higher up.
The white and green markers are clearly visible and the route is unambiguous.
The route is not particularly difficult.
Guadalupe Chapel and the coastal path at the foot of Jaizkibel
Take advantage of a sunny day to picnic and enjoy this short family walk of about 8km. A bit of road with very little traffic, then a forest path, and then the descent to the ocean. You'll find coves, steep hills, sailing boats, cows, sheep and pottoks.Before or after your walk, don't forget to visit the chapel of Guadalupe and its view over the bay of Hendaye/Hondarribia and the mouth of the Bidassoa.
El Arco de Piedrafita or Sarronal Arch
A beautiful loop starting from Piedrafita de Jaca with a visit to a geological curiosity, the Sarronal Arch.
El Far de Cala Nans in Cadaquès
Coastal route from Cadaquès to the lighthouse, with views over the Bay of Cadaquès, Port Lligat and Cap de Creus.
Estany de Banyoles tour
Walk around the Estany de Banyoles, Catalonia's largest natural lake. It's a place of exceptional beauty, with a well-laid-out trail that takes in wildlife observation areas and fishermen's cottages on the lake's shores.
Estany de Besiberri
A classic in the Val d'Aran, an ascent to Lake Besiberri via the Val de Besiberri with magnificent views of the Besiberri, the Sèrra del Molar Gran and the Aneto.
Adi ascent
The Adi overlooks the Urepel valley and the Quinto Real, which belonged to the kings of Navarre. The inhabitants paid a grazing fee corresponding to one-fifth of the herds, the quint.Currently reduced to 2,000 ha on the French side, but belonging to Spain, only the families of Saint-Étienne de Baïgorry have use of it. Herd owners pay a grazing fee (vacade) for each animal. This is why a fence marks the boundary of the Quinto Real.
Loop starting from San Martial hermitage
Walk from the San Martial hermitage with panoramic views on both sides of the border.To be avoided during the hunting season, as the path is lined with pigeon shoots.
Bacivèr Lakes in Val d'Aran
This is a beautiful circuit in the Val d'Aran, through the Vaqueira mountains to Naut and Baish de Bacivèr Lakes.Although it's a short loop, it requires an established fitness level to climb the first half of the route.The effort will be rewarded by the arrival at Lac Naut de Bacivèr, the highest point of the hike.
La Faja Racon
On the right bank of the Rio Arazas, the Faja Racon trail is very similar to that on the left bank, the Faja de Pelay.
Castell Montgri
Tour above Torroella to Castle of Montgri, via Montplà and Garrigars pass.Superb 360° panorama.
Caution : not very accessible with children, as you have to do a lot of scrambling in the rocks, and there's a steep section in a scree slope.
