A detour via the archery range in Arcey
This is a short hike that is suitable for families, with no difficulty in terms of distance, elevation or risk of getting lost. It mainly follows the yellow-blue marked trails created by the Rupt Valley Hiking Association. It can be done by mountain bike, with a few sections where you will need to dismount.
Crête sur Chavanne in Désandans
Désandans, hike on the ridge, Chavanne side.
Please note: at (4), as the path leading to Désandans is not currently maintained, you will need to return to Désandans via the same route you took to get there.
In the footsteps of Saint-Desle
A beautiful walk in the forest with a peat bog, numerous ponds and the Saint-Desle fountain. Very pleasant in summer.
Please note that during the week, part of the route may be closed for military reasons (proximity to a shooting range). Please check with the town hall on 03 84 30 10 87. In this case, you can bypass the point (4) by following the tarmac road to the point (9). (Route shortened by 4 km).
Loop from Cognières to Rougemont via the Chapel of Montaucivey
A beautiful loop starting from the town hall in Cognières, combining nature, heritage and tranquillity. The route passes through Montagney and runs alongside the Ognon river before climbing gently towards the woods and the Saint-Hilaire chapel, then the Montaucivey chapel, offering superb unobstructed views of the countryside. Pass through Rougemont and its national necropolis. Between typical villages, forests and rural paths, ponds and rivers, this walk offers a beautiful variety of landscapes and a rich heritage to discover, in a calm and bucolic atmosphere.
La Blanche Pierre in Éboulet
Close to Champagney and Ronchamp, this route will introduce you to the geology, forest, flora and local history.
Circular field in the woods between Montenois and Lougres
This is a good family walk to do outside of flood season, as the area along the Doubs river would not be passable. Apart from one or two poorly marked spots, the route is easy to follow, winding through fields and undergrowth. Most of the time, the paths are well marked (used by tractors) and widely accessible by mountain bike.
The Princes' Ponds
A loop around the Étangs des Princes, a series of ponds that bear witness to the former principality of Montbéliard. Abandoned in the 18th century, they were refilled with water in 1990 and since then have offered a landscape that changes with each season.
The Champagney Canal
Discover part of the Champagney Canal, which was started in 1884 and abandoned in 1909.

The thousand ponds starting from Mélisey
A very beautiful hike to do with the family to discover or rediscover foxgloves, which are the local flower in June, and stroll around the ponds. Leave a car at the Parc de la Praille car park at the end of the circular hike to avoid finishing the circular with 1.5 km of uninteresting and disappointing road compared to the rest.
Feedback from several hikers reports poorly marked paths that are difficult to find or completely abandoned.
From Noie Villerand to Grand Rosbeck
This family hiking route, on the outskirts of Mélisey, will allow you to discover the Plateau des 1000 Étangs (Plateau of 1000 Ponds) via small wooded paths. The ponds located along the route will amaze you, such as the Grand Rosbeck, one of the most beautiful in the Southern Vosges.
La Roche du Châtelard
This country walk starts in Lanthenans, a small village in the Comté region hidden away in the countryside, and takes you over hills and through valleys to the Roche du Châtelard viewpoint overlooking Lomont and the Doubs valley. The return route takes you through airy woods, which Marcel Aymé might have described as "the forest is still a little bit of paradise lost. God did not want the first garden to be wiped out by the first sin."
