The Fusain Trail in Sceaux-du-Gâtinais
A superb, easily accessible walk along the Fusain. The path is lined with trees, with a long stretch through a field. You then arrive in the village at the church square, which has a picnic area, a football pitch and basketball hoops. The walk has recently been made accessible and the path is maintained by the local council.
Château-Landon, the Loing Canal and the Étangs de Dordives
This walk follows the city's monument trail and adds the canal, ponds and promenade along the Fusain to combine a cultural approach with the discovery of bucolic landscapes.
Chemin de la Pierre aux Coqs from Bromeilles
The route starts at the church in Bromeilles, nicknamed the Mont Saint-Michel of the Gatinais as it is perched on a hilltop and its bell tower can be seen from a great distance. The route passes through fields and woods, offering a beautiful view of the village of Puiseaux from the Butte Jaune.
Chemin de la Butte Jaune starting from Bromeilles
The route follows, for the most part, farm tracks situated below the Butte Jaune, offering a constant view of Bromeilles church, nicknamed the Mont Saint-Michel of the Gatinais as its bell tower can be seen from a great distance. The route passes through the outskirts of Puiseaux and the magnificent Parc Dumesnil.

From the Dordives Bridge to Nemours via Souppes-sur-Loing.
A lovely route along the banks of the Loing, exploring the ponds surrounding Souppes-sur-Loing. Visit Nemours with its Chaintreauville Fountain, bridges covered in flowers in spring, beautiful church with its bell on the ground and the bridge over the Loing blessed by Pius VII.
Arrange for transport for the return journey.
The Canal du Loing and the medieval past of Château Landon
A circular route passing by the lakes of Dordives, taking the "Chemin de César" (Caesar's path), then the Gâtinais countryside to end up in Château-Landon, where you can explore its medieval past. The return journey follows the Canal du Loing with the Néronville canal bridge.
The Fusain Valley
A walk from station to station starting in Souppes-sur-Loing, which follows the Canal du Loing past the leisure centre. A short detour to the former Abbey of Cercanceaux, passing through several locks, and arriving at Château-Landon, a charming medieval town perched high above the valley. Finally, head back towards the Ordives bridge and its ponds to return to Ordives station.
From Souppes-sur-Loing to Nemours via the Beauregards rocks
A hike from station to station, mainly through woodland. After climbing up a wooded valley and crossing a cultivated plateau, you follow a very winding route through rocky chaos that is every bit as impressive as that of the neighbouring Forest of Fontainebleau. Passing through the village of Poligny and the town centre of Nemours adds a lovely touch of heritage.
Château Landon circular loop
Discover a variety of landscapes, including the Fusain Valley and Château-Landon on a limestone plateau overlooking Fusain. See Saint-Séverin Abbey, the little brother of Mont Saint-Michel, the Romanesque tower, the Templar Chapel, and the Grand Étang de Dordives lake with its water sports centre. A beautiful day ahead without too much elevation gain.
Chatillon Valley Trail from Puiseaux (45)
The Gatinais trail leads through woods and fields, heading first to the hamlet of Le Pont. In the second half, the passage through the Chatillon valley offers pleasant views of Puiseaux.
Chemin des Treize Places de Puiseaux
This urban route is exclusively intramural, exploring all the existing squares in the town of Puiseaux, in northern Loiret. It is a route without any particular difficulty.
Between rivers and canals in the heart of the Montargis conurbation.
Circular starting from the lakeside town of Montargis, known as the Venice of Gatinais. The junctions of the Briare, Orléans and Loing canals made it a veritable river crossroads between the Loire and Seine basins until the Orléans canal was decommissioned in 1954. Follow the waterways through the Loing valley, passing rivers, canals and lakes.
The Faÿ-lès-Nemours Polissoirs Trail
In the footsteps of our Neolithic ancestors, this hike takes you to no fewer than eight sites with polishers, blocks of abrasive stone (here sandstone) that were used to shape everyday tools and weapons.
The trail was designed and signposted by the Pays de Nemours Community of Communes.
Montargis, the Venice of Gâtinais
Ranked among the most beautiful sites in France, explore Montargis through its streets on the water with 131 bridges and footbridges. A gastronomic and lakeside town nicknamed the Venice of Gâtinais.
Suburban walking route from Villemandeur to Saint-Maurice-sur-Fessard
Starting from Saint-Didier Church in the welcoming village of Villemandeur, with its many shops, this route will take you due west towards the peaceful village of Saint-Maurice-sur-Fessard, following the old towpath of the Canal d’Orléans, which has been converted into a cycle route. The route passes Machot Lock and follows various paths through the countryside, offering magnificent scenery that alternates between farmland and wooded areas.
Chemin des hauteurs de Bardilly from Desmonts (45)
Mainly a country trail that passes through the hills of Bardilly and offers a panoramic view of the Gâtinais. No particular difficulty.
The Briare Canal between Montargis and the Moulin Bardin
A stroll along the Briare Canal, passing through the lakes area of the Savoies and Népruns Nature Reserve, ending at Lac des Closiers and a circular route through the beautifully restored Pêcherie district.
Peace and quiet, nature, barges, birds and a few beautiful old houses – this is what awaits you.
Discover the mills starting from Montargis
A route taking you along the Loing, past ponds, castles, mills and the old village of Amilly, then on to Lac des Closiers, the perfect spot for a picnic. The two locks: the Passerelle de la Marolles lock, followed by the Écluse de la Tuilerie lock.
From station to station: Bagneaux-sur-Loing to Nemours via the Rochers de Beauregard
A very varied walk, with the first third through a beautiful forest, then a landscape that gradually becomes more varied, with rocks strongly reminiscent of those at Fontainebleau. There is also a very beautiful plateau and large sandy hollows.
There is the option of a visit, en route, to the Museum of Prehistory and, towards the end of the route, the old town of Nemours with its castle, the branches of the Loing and its canal.
The paths and trails are mainly on well-drained sandy ground, so they are not muddy, even after rain. Most sections are well signposted,GR® or PR®.

The Tonne Valley and the Sea of Sand
An easy hike in the Nemours National Forest. The path is very sandy and almost always in the shade. In autumn, at the end of the hike, between Les Brulis and La Mer de Sable, if the heather is in bloom, you can enjoy a beautiful rocky landscape.
The mills of the upper Essonne valley
Before motorisation, milling was highly developed along the banks of the Essonne. This hike sets out to discover no fewer than five old water mills, whose presence has been documented since the 18th century. The route along the river is full of charm and the numerous reed beds add a touch of natural heritage to this very diverse hike.

A pleasant trail through woods and fields that climbs to the heights of Briarres-sur-Essonne, where the sheep pastures offer a magnificent panorama of the Essonne valley. A bucolic passage along the banks of the Essonne.
From the Grottes du Loup to the Troglodyte and the Gros Monts
Poligny Forest, at the southern end of the Fontainebleau Forest. A hike of less than 8 km, alternating between rocky and flat terrain. Discover a beautiful panorama of the Loing Valley. A very shaded circuit.
Chemin de Saint-Fiacre from Dimancheville (45)
Route through the Gâtinais countryside in Dimancheville (45), the smallest municipality in the canton of Puiseaux. The route runs alongside several properties (Orville mill, Augerville-la-Rivière castle park) and returns, across fields, to the municipality of Dimancheville along the Malesherbes - Puiseaux railway line.
This route presents no particular difficulties.
Jacques Cœur trail from Augerville-la-Rivière
A bucolic trail through woods, bordering the large estate of Augerville-la-Rivière, with its château and golf course. A footpath is accessible in the park.
This hike takes you through the picturesque village of Orville with its wash house and mill.
