The Fusain Trail in Sceaux-du-Gâtinais

A superb, easily accessible walk along the Fusain. The path is lined with trees, with a long stretch through a field. You then arrive in the village at the church square, which has a picnic area, a football pitch and basketball hoops. The walk has recently been made accessible and the path is maintained by the local council.

Description of the walk

The starting point is at approximately 40 Route de Château Landon; you can park by the small blue sign for “Morveau” to reach the Fusain.

(S/E) Cross the bridge and walk alongside the Fusain on your right, keeping as close to it as possible. Ignore the first footbridge and carry on to the next one.

(1) Cross the footbridge, walk alongside the tennis courts and carry on to the church. Follow Rue de l’Église, turn right onto Rue Sourde and continue to the junction with Rue du Grand Bezout.

(2) Turn right. Continue along the path at the end of the tarmac road. Join the Route du Château Landon.

(3) Turn right and, a little further on, turn right again at the sign for ‘Morveau’ to return to the starting point (S/E).

A very pleasant walk, a lovely stream and the chance to discover a charming little town… It’s best to park by the church and start at point no. 1.

A lovely little walk along one of the few sections of the Fusain riverbank that are accessible. We started the walk at the church, then walked along the Fusain before returning via the road.
