Departure from the Rue du Port car park, between the cinema and the canal.
(S/E) Take the towpath northwards (with your back to the town). Follow the Briare Canal, pass the silos and go under the Avenue Nelson Mandela bridge.
(1) After the water treatment plant, take the path on the right and join the Loing. Turn left onto the riverbank, take the footbridge, pass under the railway bridge and then under the arches beneath Rue du Gué aux Biches. Continue between the river and the lake at the Trois Canaux leisure centre.
(2) At its northern end, cross the river branch, pass under the stone bridge of the old railway line and continue along the Loing. Leave the footbridge on your right, which provides access to the Lancy district, and continue along the path to reach the Canal du Loing on your left.
(3) Follow the towpath to the right and continue along the Montenon quay. Pass the Cepoy lock and reach the bridge over the canal.
(4) Turn right onto Avenue du Château and cross the first branch of the Loing. After crossing the second branch, take the path on the left opposite the campsite and near the Maison de la Suède. Reach and go around Lac de Cepoy on the right behind the houses.
(5) Pass near La Pierre aux Fées or Grosse Pierre. Walk along the lake, continue along the path through the woods and then along the edge of Rue des Sablières (D740).
(6) At the end of the lake and before the pond, leave the enclosure through the metal barrier opposite the culvert under the railway line. Follow the D740 road northwards. At the level crossing, turn left onto Rue des Etangs. In the right-hand bend, leave the road and cross the pedestrian barrier opposite.
(7) At the next intersection, turn left, cross the culvert on the Loing and continue left (south) between the Etang de Vaussel and the river. At the end, cross the concrete spillway to reach the Canal du Loing.
(8) Continue left on the Quai de Vaussel towards Cepoy.
(4) In the village, cross the bridge on the right. At the end of the bridge, descend to the left onto the other bank of the canal, Quai des Pêcheurs. Follow the canal for a long way, pass under the old railway line again and arrive at the Buges lock and the Trois Canaux site.
(9) Cross the footbridge to leave the Canal du Loing and reach the islet between the Canal d'Orléans on the right and the Canal de Briare on the left. Continue straight ahead on the footbridge over the Solin and follow the canal for about 150 metres.
(10) Then leave the canal and turn right near the dovecote. Reach the Solin and continue along its left bank.
(11) Take the bridge on the right and continue left along the river. At the next bridge, cross to the other side opposite the Hutchinson factory. Continue along the footpath on the right.
(12) Cross Rue Gustave Noury and Place de la Commune de Paris. Walk along the Solin again. Cross Rue de l'Anglée, the railway line and Rue du Solin.
(13) Cross the footbridge to the right and continue left along the river. Cross Rue du 23 Août 1944 and continue opposite until you reach the next bridge.
(14) Cross to the other bank and turn right to reach the back of the Château Blanc secondary school. Continue along the Solin.
(15) After the two small buildings, turn left onto the diagonal path leading to Rue de la Pontonnerie. Continue left and at the roundabout, turn right onto the path parallel to Rue Léonard de Vinci.
(16) At the next roundabout, opposite Durzy High School, turn left onto Rue Clément Ader. Cross Boulevard John Kennedy, then continue along Rue Guy Marie Riobé, Rue Claude Rolfe and Rue Colonel Buckmaster.
(17) Continue right in front of the water tower. Walk along the cemetery, cross the access road to Saint-Louis School and the castle. You will arrive at Rue du Château.
(18) Cross and turn left, then right onto the steps leading to Place Girodet. Walk past the Girodet school, then take the paved path on the left between the car park and Le Vernisson. Go down the steps between the buildings. Walk under the porch and exit on the right near the Musée des Tanneurs.
(19) Cross the square and Rue du Général Leclerc, following the river below the roundabout. Walk past the courthouse and prison. At the Briare Canal, turn right. Use the Horloge footbridge on the left to cross to the other side opposite the Tourist Office.
(20) Turn around at the side and take the path on the right along the canal. Pass under the Pont du Québec bridge and then behind the police station. Return to the car park (S/E).
