Description of the walk

You can park your vehicles at 16 Boulevard des Belles Manières (near the Briare Canal bridge).

(S/E) From Place Victor Hugo, head towards the Briare Canal and cross the Briare Canal bridge.

(1) Take the path on the right, pass the Écluse de la Marolles, then pass between the Loing and the Briare Canal.

(2) Before reaching a road, turn left onto the Chemin de la Baignade and, further on, rejoin the Chemin de Contre Halage, to follow the Briare Canal alongside the GR® 13.

(3) Pass under the bridge on the main road, then arrive at Moulin Bardin (free tour lasting approximately 30 minutes, by booking only).

(4) Cross the bridge to the other side of the canal, then take Rue Papelard on the left, following the canal. Pass under the railway bridge and continue along Chemin du Déversoir, then onto Rue de la Tuilerie.

(5) When you reach the Écluse de la Tuilerie, turn left towards Amilly via Rue des Ponts, cross the Loing and pass in front of the Tanneries, then cross the Loing again.

(6) At the junction, take Rue Raymond Lecerf on the left, then turn left onto Rue de la Vallée.

(7) Turn right onto Rue Creuse to cross through Amilly, passing the Town Hall.

(8) Cross Rue de la Vallée (D943) with care, and continue straight ahead onto Rue de l’Union, crossing the Loing.

(9) Turn right onto a path and cross the railway line, then walk along the right-hand side of the ponds. Pass the Moulin Charrier and the Moulin de Paille.

(10) Go under the D2060 bridge and, further on, take the D943 Rue de la Nivelle on the left.

(11) Turn left onto Rue des Pins and, at the sharp left-hand bend, take a path on the right to rejoin Rue du Prieure. Continue straight ahead along this street until you reach the end.

(12) Turn left onto Rue des Closiers, cross two roads including the D2007 and follow the path on the right alongside Lac des Rosiers. Turn left onto Allée Anne d'Este and cross the bridge.

(13) Cross another bridge and walk alongside Pasteur Primary School; at the end, first turn left then right.

(1) Cross the Canal de Briare and return to Place Victor Hugo. (S/E)
