A bucolic stroll to the sources of the Seine, passing by a pond designed by a contemporary Swiss artist and the ruins of a former 12th-century hermitage.

A circular walk from Champrenault to Villy-en-Auxois featuring some interesting heritage sites. In Champrenault, a renovated castle, an unusual church and ‘nazoirs’. Further on, the Roman road from Sombernon to Alésia and Villy-en-Auxois, the Sainte-Barbe Chapel and the wash house.

A pleasant walk starting from Saint-Martin-du-Mont, taking in wash houses, wind turbines and a beautiful abbey. This discovery route takes you gently through green hills and vast fields.

This route, starting from Trouhaut, climbs up Mont Tasselot and continues to La Rochotte, passing at the foot of several wind turbines. It then returns towards Fromenteau, passing close to another group of wind turbines, before descending back to Trouhaut. N.B. It is also possible to do the wind turbine route without going via Trouhaut, for example by starting from Fromenteau.

This short circular walk starting from Trouhaut climbs up Mont Tasselot via Vau-Mercy and descends via the Creuse. Alternatively, you can take a shortcut and descend via Videmont.

There are numerous hamlets in the commune of Saint-Martin-du-Mont, and each has its own picturesque washhouse! During this leafy walk through fields and villages, you can admire the wash houses at Cestres, Saint-Martin-du-Mont, Bordes Bricard and Froideville. The best time to take this walk is in early spring, when everything is turning green again, the first flowers are sprouting from the ground, and the streams and wash houses are overflowing with rushing water!

A lush walk through fields and woods, starting from Bussy-La-Pesle, which winds its way through the outskirts of Blaisy-Bas and on to Drée, a pleasant village in fine weather with its stream and old houses built from stones from the former castle.

A circular walk starting from Blaisy-Bas, following the Paris–Dijon railway line to Blaisy-Haut, Baulme La Roche, Mâlain, then Savigny-Sous-Mâlain, featuring scattered monuments along the way as well as splendid sites to discover or revisit.

This route takes in the small Côte d'Orienne commune of Saint-Martin-du-Mont, the natural site of the Ru Blanc and the remains of a medieval village dating back to the 14th century.

This walk allows you to explore Vitteaux, where several buildings date back to medieval times, as well as Camp Miard (spelled ‘Myard’ on local signs) with its 6,000-year-old remains. Posanges Castle is also well worth a visit.

A circular route starting from the medieval town of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, allowing you to explore, in part, the valleys of the Ozerain and the Oze and discover some of the restored historic buildings there. Make sure to set aside some time to wander around Flavigny and soak up its rich and varied cultural heritage.

From the village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, a magnificent medieval village, head for a picnic at the Château de Bussy-Rabutin, which you will enjoy visiting. Then return via Alise-Sainte-Reine, a key site of the Gallic Wars, and pay a visit to Vercingétorix.

This route has been redeveloped and made safer. It allows you to bypass the Douix river and walk through a pleasant boxwood forest before reaching the village of Darcey and then the cave. It is not listed on IGN maps, which is why I used the Visorando app to track my route and highlight it.

Uncey-le-Franc is a small country village, formerly a Templar landmark. This short hike forms a circular route starting in front of the church at an altitude of 350 metres.

Starting from ventilation shaft XV, this lovely family walk through woods and meadows will take you to the petrifying spring of the Fontaine du Loup with its cascades, and to the charming wash house at Blaisy-Haut. It passes through the village with its pretty church and picturesque cemetery, and will lead you to the magnificent entrance to the fortified castle. You can also pop over to take a look at one of the famous ventilation shafts of the tunnel that cuts through the mountain between Baulme-la-Roche and Blaisy-Bas, which was, for a time, the longest railway tunnel in France. Ventilation shaft XV is one of them, and it has given its name to the restaurant situated opposite your car park, on the other side of the road.

Hike starting from the picnic area, allowing you to climb up the pleasant Ru Blanc site. Pass by the Gaillard well and the ruins of the medieval settlement before descending the Combe d'Été to rejoin the old cart track.

From the tufa-strewn torrent of the Rui Blanc, which cascades down to the Suzon via the steep heights of the Val Suzon, the route takes you through remote corners of the world, perched caves and climbing sections, through boxwood groves and along the edges of plateaus, before revealing a karstic cave – a geological curiosity unique to this region.

A walk in the Val Suzon which, for a while following an old railway line, takes us from caves to chasms in the vicinity of Pasques and Panges, through woods and fields.

A pleasant, idyllic walk starting from Val Suzon, offering the chance to visit the archaeological site of Cestres – now abandoned dwellings – including the Puits Gaillard. It then takes us from one wash house to another between Cestres, Froideville and Les Bordes Bricard before heading back down theGR®®2to reach the Ru Blanc resurgence.

A lovely walk along the hills between Baulme-la-Roche and La Roche Aigüe, overlooking Malain and the Ouche valley. You can admire the springs of the Douix at the entrance to the village of Baulme-la-Roche, with a small cave, a restored wash house and a water reservoir nearby. You’ll pass through this picturesque village and, from above, can admire the lush green countryside stretching between Baulme-la-Roche and Malain.

A route mainly through woodland on the hills above Baulme-la-Roche, leading to La Roche Aiguë and past an old boundary marker. In spring, you can see martagon lilies, pick daffodils and admire the villages of Baulme and Malain. A remarkable natural site featuring limestone grasslands, this area has been listed as a natural heritage site since 1942. The cliffs are part of an Area of Special Interest.

This path crosses the Channel–Mediterranean watershed via the “Montagne”, through which the 4 km-long Blaizy Tunnel runs.Along the way, discover Well XV, the panoramic view over the Ouche valley and the Baulme-la-Roche cliff.

A beautiful route with varied scenery, passing through picturesque villages. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Ouche valley and the village of Baulme-la-Roche, situated below the cliff, during the final part of the walk.

A circular route around Lamargelle, to discover this beautiful village on the banks of the Ignon, the Combe Saint-Seine and the sweeping landscapes of this secluded valley. This route showcases the village, set in the beautiful valley of the Ignon with its mills, wash houses and castle. It also takes you through the valleys linked to the golden legend of Saint-Seine, who founded the abbey of the same name, and whose abbots owned Lamargelle Castle.

This walk allows you to explore the villages of Mâlain and Prâlon whilst passing through the wooded hills, offering fascinating panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and woods. There are fascinating views of the village and Mâlain Castle, as well as the cliffs of Baume-la-Roche. You follow the spine of the Vouivre, that ‘snake’ of limestone rocks winding its way between the hills.

Circular route starting from Martrois that will take you to the Saint-Jean Chapel, passing close to a bison farm and then Soussey-sur-Brionne Castle.

This route, starting from Ancey, will allow you to discover this picturesque village and will take you from the mysterious, wooded Combe Piron to two viewpoints:- the Combe Piron viewpoint, overlooking the forest of the combe, Notre-Dame d'Étang and Mont Afrique,- the Roche Aigüe viewpoint, which offers views of the Ouche valley, the village of Mâlain, the cliffs of Baulme-la-Roche and the surrounding countryside. On the way back, you can explore the Roche Aigüe limestone quarry, whose walls are pierced by two deep tunnels closed off by gates to protect the bats from curious humans.
