Park in the small car park at Sources de la Seine.
(S/E) Go down into the park, which is crossed by theGR®2trail (red and white markings). Follow theGR®2to the right, heading south, until you reach the D103 road. Take this road to the right for 40 metres and then leave it to the left, following theGR® which enters a wooded valley (the Combe aux Arnauts). You will come to a crossroads where an old triangular stone marker bears the inscriptions "Bligny, Saint-Germain, Poncey".
(1) Leave theGR® by turning right towards the west-southwest onto the yellow-marked path, which leads to a road 900 metres further on. Turn left for 150 metres, then cross another road leading to Blessey before entering the forest again. Continue for about 700 metres, following the yellow markings, until you reach a crossroads.
(2) The yellow trail branches off sharply to the right, heading north. Leave the yellow markings here and go straight down the path that leads to the bottom of the valley where the Bonnevaux stream flows. Cross the stream on two planks and climb up the other side of the valley. At the three-way junction, turn left uphill to reach, 50 metres further on, a large clearing where the old Hermitage of Saint-Jean de Bonnevaux is located.
(3) Turn right, heading north, onto the yellow-marked path, passing above a pumping station. At the fork just after, do not go up to the left but take the roughly horizontal path on the right, which then passes near a spring. At the next crossroads, go down to the right, then turn right again and immediately left. Continue downhill to the spillway of a beautifully landscaped pond.
Cross the stream on two planks and continue along the path on the right bank for 250 metres until you reach a fork.
(4) Leave the edge of the stream and immediately turn left to climb quickly up a ridge heading north-west and then north. The path leaves the forest at the top of the climb and heads north-west across the open plateau. It joins a good carriage road, which you take to the left and follow straight on to Blessey.
(5) In the village, descend to the left of the calvary to visit the wash house restored by Swiss artist Rémy Zaugg.
Then go back up to the right of the wash house, turn left under the church and finally leave the village via the D103C road.
(6) Just after a calvary (the Croix des Charmes), leave the road and follow a good path on the left that leads to Saint-Germain, passing through the bottom of a valley with a pond. Cross this village from west to east, first following Rue du Lavoir and then Rue de Griande.
(7) Take the path that passes to the right of the water tower (yellow markings still present, but not very visible). In the fields, turn right then left and descend into the Seine valley where you join theGR®2.
(8) Turn right onto theGR® which leads back to the Sources de la Seine (S/E).
