Just before the Cestres hamlet, on the RD971 about 7km from Val Suzon in the Dijon-Chatillon sur Seine direction, there is a car park on the right, about 100m before the hamlet.
(S/E) Follow the RD971 to the right until you reach a crossing opposite a bus shelter. Cross the RD971, follow it in the direction of Saint-Seine-l'Abbaye, then turn left for about 100m onto a small road (D103) in the direction of Saint-Martin-du-Mont. Reach a wash-house.
(1) Take the GR®2 opposite, marked in Red and White. Follow it due South, then head due West to reach a crossroads where there's an antenna.
(2) Turn left at an acute angle, still on the GR®, keeping to it until you reach the junction with a wider track.
(3) Cross it, still following the GR® to quickly reach a 4-way crossroads.
(4) Continue straight ahead, then immediately enter the Bois de Cestres. Follow the Combe du Ru Blanc, pass near the source of this stream, then reach a picnic area along the D7.
(5) Cross a small bridge over the Ru Blanc, then follow the GR® up to the left, parallel to the D7. Join it at the Bois des Roches crossroads.
(6) Leave the GR® at this point and turn left onto the narrow path leading up into Combe Noury. Reach the plateau between 2 woods.
(7) Turn left onto a wide grassy path along which there are several observation posts for hunting. Reach the end of this path.
(8) Continue left almost in a straight line to find the Chemin de la Combe d'Eté.
(9) Turn right onto a small path.
(10) Turn left at a right angle to reach a new junction.
(11) Turn left this time, continue in a straight line around the medieval village, and after a double right-hand bend, reach the village entrance.
(12) Bend right to reach the archaeological excavation site of the medieval village. Follow the path to the right for a few hundred metres, then cross the wood to the left (the path is not marked) to reach the Puits Gaillard (well).
(13) From here, take a path heading North which leads to a large driveway. Turn right, then quickly left. You will then pass the edge of the wood, where a fence closes off the lane. Continue through the fields until you reach the crossroads with the D971 at the hamlet of La Casquette.
(14) Cross the RD971 with care, follow it for about 50m to the left, then turn right at the edge of a hedge. Continue along a field, following the path as it winds through the fields. Enter a small wood and end up on the small road linking the Prairay hamlet to the D971.
(15) Turn left along this little-used road to reach the junction with the Bouton d'Or ('buttercup') path (there's a sign here).
(16) Turn left and follow this path to the Cestres hamlet to find the car park (S/E).
