Park in the car park on the outskirts of Baulme-la-Roche.
(S/E) Follow the wide path that winds through the meadows, initially following the contour lines closely before climbing steeply to reach a junction.
(1) Head up to the right to reach the D16: note ventilation shaft No. 15 of the railway tunnel passing just below.
(2) Cross the road carefully and continue straight ahead along a path that soon passes under two power lines.
(3) About a hundred metres further on, take the small path on your left. Turn right a few dozen metres further on, then left to follow a long, straight path for over 800 m.
(4) Turn right at a 90° angle and continue to the next crossroads.
(5) Head down the path on the right along the clearing, then turn left at the edge of the woods. You’ll come to an old wash house: a shaded spot where you can stop for a picnic on the table provided.
(6) Continue along the route and head straight on until you reach the road junction at Blaisy-Haut Town Hall.
(7) Turn left onto Rue du Château to admire the castle from the outside: private property, not open to visitors.
(8) Turn back and return to the crossroads.
(7) Turn left onto Rue du Four, which continues as a path and curves to the right before rejoining the main road you crossed earlier to visit the château.
(9) Cross it again, continue along the path opposite and turn left at a 90° angle at the junction to return to the road. Keep in the same direction and follow it carefully until you reach the junction with the D16, at the entrance to Charmoy-lès-Blaisy.
(10) Cross with care, enter the hamlet and then turn right. You’ll soon reach a junction; continue almost straight ahead, slightly to the left. The route alternates between meadows and wooded areas before joining the D104C.
(11) Cross with care, head left towards the small dirt car park, then take the very well-signposted path on the right leading to Baulme-la-Roche. Take a short detour to the right to reach the magnificent view over the Ouche valley and the village of Baulme-la-Roche below: picnic tables available on site.
(12) Carefully walk along the cliffs to rejoin the path and follow it as it enters the woodland. You’ll reach a picnic area and then a crossroads.
(13) Turn right and take the small path leading back down to the village, which you reach via Rue Maréchal Foch. You’ll arrive at the crossroads opposite Saint-Martin Church.
(14) Take the street on the right, passing in front of the church, the castle and then the Town Hall, following the street which leads to a wash house situated on the edge of a small pond: you can walk around it if there isn’t too much water.
(15) Continue along the road to return to the car park (S/E).
