Description of the walk

Park near Trouhaut Town Hall.

(S/E) From Trouhaut town hall, head up Rue de la Fontaine. At the top, turn left onto Rue de Vaumercy. Continue along the dirt track that extends from the street.

(1) When you reach a fork, turn right through the woodland, along a fairly steep path, to reach Mont Tasselot.
Carry on across the plateau. You’ll come to a junction.

(2) Turn left and then immediately right onto the path which climbs quite steeply.
(Optionally, instead of turning left, you can turn right to head straight back down to the village via the Videmont or the Mont route).

(3) Beautiful views of the surrounding area.
Carry on until you reach the D10G.

(4) Turn right to head back down to Trouhaut. Walk past the Priory.

(5) Carry on to the village centre (S/E).

Something to avoid doing on a Sunday during the hunting season: a bullet struck the ground between me and my wife, who was a few metres behind me as we were climbing; this happened about fifty metres before the fork in the path through the undergrowth. Two shots were fired; I heard the bullet whistling past, and my wife saw the impact to her right on the embankment, sending a spray of earth into the air. The shots came from below; we spotted two hunters further down the slope. Then, further on, as we reached the plateau, we came across several hunters lying in wait, to whom we recounted our misadventure. Apart from that, it was a nice little walk to get some fresh air.
