Tour of the Brandon Pond in Saint-Pierre-de-Varennes
Walk around the lake through the undergrowth, past beautiful rocks and the TGV line. This unpretentious route is more suited to people staying nearby who want to get some fresh air for an hour or have a picnic. There are few people on the path, if any, outside the summer season.

Saint-Sernin-du-Bois - Écuisses
This hike is part of the Grande Traversée de la Bourgogne du Sud (Great Crossing of Southern Burgundy) route, which, together with the Grande Traversée de l'Yonne and the Grande Traversée du Morvan, make up the Via Burgundia. This long route, which runs from Montereau-Fault-Yonne to Macon, allows you to discover the Eternal Burgundy and stretches for almost 500 km. You can find out more on the website.
The two mountains
An ascent of two mounts, Mont de Rome Château (514m) and Mont Rême (546m), giving you a good panoramic view of the Cossane valley, which joins the Dheune.
The Château de Couches
A peaceful walk where Mont Rome seems to play hide and seek with hikers.
The paths run alongside small streams and the few tarmac sections do not spoil the enjoyment.
There is only one small climb, just to keep you in shape.
The Crêts de Curgy
A lovely walk that winds through the hills near the small village of Curgy. From these heights, known locally as "les Crêts" or "les Crays", you can enjoy superb views of the Autunois region and the nearby Morvandelle mountain.
Marnay Lakes Circular starting from Marmagne
The route offers several views of Marmagne, Saint-Symphorien and the Mesvrin valley, with a long stretch through the woods and a section over the Mesvrin.
Château de Sully
A short, gently sloping route that takes in an old mine headframe and the Château de Sully, owned by the Duchess of Magenta and the birthplace of President Mac Mahon. You'll also discover the greenway that leads to Saint-Léger-du-Bois.
