(S/E) Start from the car park opposite McDonald's. Follow the banks of the lake to the tennis courts.
(1) Join Rue Louis Aragon by passing between the grounds (several routes possible). Turn right onto Chemin des Ragots. Pass the equestrian centre and the municipal golf course and continue to the D680. Turn right towards Chalon for 150 metres.
(2) Take the Route Forestière des Gorges de Brisecou and follow it until you reach the fork at the waterfall (3)
(4) Continue to the paved road at the iron bridge.
(5) Turn left for 200m, then turn right onto the Montmain path.
(6) You can stop for a break at the shelter at the old Montmain farm. Otherwise, continue straight ahead on a small forest road (with signs describing the different tree species) which will take you back to the heights of the hamlet of Couhard and the D120.
(7) Turn left, then right, opposite the Auberge de la Cascade. Turn right twice more, pass the small church in Couhard and you will reach the Pyramide de Couhard car park.
(8) At the far left of the car park, take the marked dirt track (GR®®131-137) and descend to the Chemin des Ragots.
(9) Turn right onto the paved road and almost immediately left onto a small dirt track that passes between the houses. Back on the paved road, turn right and follow the cemetery until you reach the motorhome parking area.
(10) Continue the route downhill towards the Vallon lake (you can take a detour to the Roman theatre). When you reach the lake, follow it on the left to return to your starting point (S/E).
