Park in the square in front of Marmagne church.
Follow the SSM2 markings throughout the route.
(S/E) From the church square, take Rue Capet opposite.
(1) When you reach the crossroads, between the two stop signs, take the protected crossing, pass between the two low walls of the square and in front of the fountain erected in 1876 by Mr Schneider. Walk along the low wall, then cross the road at the pedestrian crossing to take the small Rue de la Tuilerie opposite. Keep to the right at the next crossroads to reach Route de la Croix Blanchot.
(2) Cross the road carefully (no protected crossing) and take the path opposite towards Saint-Sulpice, which you will reach after crossing a small wooden footbridge. Pass in front of an 18th-century quadrangular chapel and you will come to a three-way junction.
(3) Climb the hill via the path on the left and, after a slight incline, you will arrive at a place called Les Descloix.
(4) Pass between the farm buildings, leave the tarmac road immediately and turn slightly right onto a grassy path.
(5) At Les Bruyères and a road, turn right. Pass through the middle of another farm at Les Bonnotes, then continue along a slightly sloping path.
(6) When you reach a road, turn left carefully and pass in front of the cross at a place called La Croix Blanchot. At the crossroads just after, turn right towards Chapey. At the fork, turn left onto a small road towards Bellevue. After 200 metres, take a small grassy path on the left and begin a long descent with beautiful views of Saint-Symphorien-de-Marmagne to find a road further down, which you follow to the right.
(7) Turn right again, then left towards the RD61.
(8) Cross the RD61 with caution, then turn left onto the pavement.
(9) At the Halte crossroads, turn right towards the village of Saint-Symphorien, cross the railway line and then the bridge over the Mesvrin.
(10) Take thefirst road on the left towards a place called La Tour de Bourdeau.
(11) At the end of the dirt track, at La Troche, turn left onto the road that crosses the Mesvrin river and the railway line and takes you back to the starting point (S/E).
