Pargny-la-Dhuys walks

This is a unique little hike that will allow you to discover the Dhuis aqueduct and visit Condé-en-Brie, its castle and its historic centre.

A circular walk starting from Passy-sur-Marne, taking in vineyards, châteaux, villages, the banks of the Marne and wash houses, not forgetting the military cemetery and the Dormans Memorial 1914-1918. A busy day steeped in history.

Walk up Mont-Saint-Père, passing by the Gland orientation table, then stroll along the Marne to finish up on the Chartèves hillside, a nature reserve where you can find around thirty plant species (orchids, etc.) and invertebrate fauna (spotted salamanders) and insectivorous birds.

This route follows part of the "Le sentier des murmures" pedestrian route in Saint-Martin-d'Ablois, created by the Association Nature et Patrimoine Ablutien (ANPA) and marked in yellow. You can enter the Parc du Sourdon from the (6).

A hike from station to station (easily accessible by train), shaded between balconies overlooking the Marne, meadows and fields along the river, alternating between woods and vineyards. The route follows a relatively wild and quiet circular loop of the Marne. Ideal in dry and sunny weather. (!) Be aware of hunting days. Check with the town hall for hunting days (every other Sunday).

Rich in heritage, Jouarre is a commune overlooking the Petit Morin shortly before it joins the Marne. This hike, which alternates between cultivated fields and woods, runs alongside the Etang de Péreuse and then offers a route with little elevation gain on the embankment of the underground Dhuis aqueduct. There are beautiful views of the Marne and Petit Morin valleys.

A long hike from station to station that takes us from the Petit Morin Valley to the Grand Morin Valley via a hill overlooking the Briard Plateau, offering extensive panoramic views. A route with varied landscapes, including woods, cultivated fields and pastures on the hillsides. Charming streams and beautiful heritage buildings complete the picture.

This is a short hike through vineyards offering magnificent views of the Marne Valley. The return journey is along a pleasant path that runs alongside the river.

This is a lovely day hike starting from Hautvillers. It takes you through vineyards and woods on both sides of the Marne Valley, with splendid views. It's a great opportunity to discover this beautiful vineyard and visit a few wine cellars.

The Butte de Doue rises above the Plateau Briard and offers extensive views. With its 13th-century church, it is the central feature of this hike, which also includes a route through cultivated plains and along streams and a circular loop through the forest. There are many possible variations.

This is a short 17 km hike on paths that are accessible in all seasons. It crosses magnificent forests and vineyards with a beautiful view of the city of Reims. Accessible by TER train from Germaine Station (point (2))

A hike starting from a train station, mainly through fields, with a shaded section through the Forêt de la Bretonnière.

From the medieval town of Coulommiers to Provins, via a loop around the Marne in the Paris suburbs, a series of walks starting from a station and crossing the Brie plain, its villages and its rich heritage.

After walking through the Parc des Capucins and a few paths in Coulommiers, climb up to the former Commandery of the Knights Templar. The route continues mainly between cultivated fields with a few beautiful farmhouses along the way and the beautiful church of Aulnoy. After descending, follow the Grand Morin valley before a final short climb.

A circular loop from Sermiers to Chamery through fields and back through vineyards.

This is a lovely walk in a little-known area, the Ardre Valley. The walk takes you over hills and through valleys, across Champagne vineyards, fields and forests. It starts at the beautiful Saint-Lié Chapel in Ville-Dommange.

This loop runs through the Ardre valley, with the first part through woodland and the second part along field paths. The first part from Fismes to Saint-Gilles follows the old Reims Suburban Railway (CBR) line, which served many towns. The second part runs along the ridge of the road from Fismes to Fère-en-Tardenois, where, when conditions allow, many paragliders take flight.

Available from Tuesday 24 June 2025. Starting near the (future) new Mesneux school, discover the solar system and its planets - on a human scale - as you walk along the paths around the village, through fields and vineyards. Car parks: see "Practical information" below.

The Retz Forest was the scene of intense fighting during the two battles of the Marne, in September 1914 and during the summer of 1918. Numerous monuments retrace this history, and this hike, which starts at the foot of the ruins of Longpont Abbey, passes by a memorial built in 1938. Beech and pine forests, with beautiful fern undergrowth, await you on this mainly forest trail.

Between vineyards and woods: you will walk around Trigny, a village in the "Petite Montagne de Reims". This route also offers sweeping views of the Vesle valley. To the south, you can see Coulommes-la-Montagne. To the south-east: Reims and even Verzenay! (description updated on 7 July 2019)

A varied route, mapped out by the Marne Tourist Board, takes you through a forest, sand pits, vineyards, fields and two villages. From a balcony offering views of the Vesle valley, you will pass the forts of Saint-Thierry and Chenay. These were built after the 1870 war to protect Reims. (avoid on hunting days or after heavy rain, as there may be large puddles - description updated on 14 July 2019)

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the medieval walls of Provins are worth a visit in their own right! This urban walk, enhanced by waterways, allows you to discover the town's main sites and monuments: ramparts, Romanesque church and Gothic collegiate church, former convent, and the famous César Tower. The route was designed by the Pays du Provinois Community of Communes and marked by the FFRP.

A hike mainly through fields with a few passages through woods. There is some beautiful heritage in Sourdun (church, castle) and the route offers some beautiful views, albeit distant, of the Collegiate Church of Saint-Quiriace and the César Tower in Provins.

Set off to discover the farms and châteaux of the Hermonville plateau on this circuit that will take you through the Saint-Joseph farm, the Luthernay farm, the Château de Vaux-Varennes and the Château de Châlons le Vergeur, along paths and through forests.

A lovely, easy walk through nature and heritage, best enjoyed in good weather. Peace, tranquillity and fresh air are its main attractions , culminating in a visit to Valsery Abbey. Guided tours are available at weekends in summer. The passage in front of Montgobert Castle also invites you to visit the Wood Museum. At the end of the route, enjoy rural scenery and a magnificent view from the highest point of the plain over the Mont de Valsery farm. The route is very shaded between the various points (2) and (3) by large trees. You pass near the Ferme de Saint-Agnan (3), one of the first properties of the Abbey of Valsery, 2 km away, then near the Château de Mongobert (4) and at the end of the route near the Ferme du Mont de Valsery (6). The path is wide and pleasant throughout.

We invite you to discover an itinerary combining history and nature, offering exceptional panoramic views of the village of Saint-Pierre-Aigle. A grassy path will lead us towards the Dommier quarry, before we take a farm track that will take us to Saint-Pierre-Aigle. Here, we will have a magnificent view of the village's central square and church. The hike continues through Chafossepour to reach the surrounding forest. After this immersion in the rural world, we will continue our journey through the undergrowth for about 2 km, sheltered by the coolness of the trees. Nature will then reveal the place known as Le Trou Madelon, where we will gradually emerge from the forest and enter the plain. From there, we will walk along the edge of Saint-Pierre, on the edge of the woods, before beginning our descent towards Valsery Abbey.

The route begins with a grassy path that climbs 60 metres, offering a beautiful ascent at the start. It then continues on flat terrain, following agricultural paths that are ideal for enjoying the surroundings while walking at a leisurely pace. After this section, a descent leads to the picturesque village of Saint-Pierre-Aigle, a charming place to take a short break. The rest of the route takes you into the forest, with 8 kilometres of forest paths, pleasant and varied terrain, perfect for nature lovers. You then cross the village of Montgobert, adding a touch of diversity before returning to the plain. The return journey is along farm tracks, offering wide views and unobstructed vistas of the surrounding countryside. Finally, a last descent takes you to ValseryAbbey, a historic site that provides a beautiful conclusion to this route.
