Description of the walk

In Baulne-en-Brie, you can park on Rue des Saules, near the tourist sign for the Surmelin Valley

(S/E) Turn right, following the arrow towards Condé-en-Brie. Cross the bridge over the Surmelin, then at the junction, head up the gravelled path opposite into the woodland. On leaving the woodland, continue to the right along the path at the edge of the woodland.

(1) After a bend to the left, the path curves round an oak tree on the right and enters the woodland briefly. Turn left to come out of the woodland and continue along the edge of the woodland. Follow the farm track straight on between the woodland and the fields. As you leave the woodland, head down towards the village of Condé-en-Brie.

(2) Leave the track before the small chapel and go round the cemetery on the left. Head down the road opposite into Condé-en-Brie via Rue de l’Ormet. Walk alongside the market halls. Follow the arrow straight on towards Saint-Eugène down the Grande Rue, cross the bridge over the Dhuis, past the entrance to the Château, home of the Princes of Condé. Continue to follow the arrow towards Saint-Eugène. At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right towards Crézancy for about 200 metres.

(3) Turn left towards the secondary school. After the school, follow the path which climbs to the right towards the forest. Go through the metal gate on the right and follow the Dhuys Aqueduct for 2 km.

(4) At the new gate, take the path leading down to the right towards Saint-Eugène. At the first house, turn right onto Rue Joyeuse and follow it straight on.

(5) At the junction, follow the arrow to the left towards Crézancy and head up Rue du Mousset as far as the last houses. Continue along the path which climbs towards the forest. After the water reservoir, follow the Aqueduc de la Dhuys to the right for 3.3 km. It is crossed three times by farm tracks, but is protected by metal gates.

(6) At the telephone exchange, head down the village track to the right towards Crézancy. Then turn right onto the grassy track and continue towards the church. At the traffic lights, turn left onto the main road and follow it to the agricultural college.

(7) Turn right towards Dormans. After 100 metres, follow the sign to the left for Mézy and carry on straight ahead along the farm track.

(8) At the crossroads, turn right towards Moulins. Then turn left onto the path running alongside the railway line. After passing under another railway line, carry on to Mézy Church (E).
