Description of the walk

Parking: in Connigis, you can park around the Place des Tilleuls, near the Surmelin Valley tourist sign

(S/E) Leaving the Place des Tilleuls, head towards the wash house and continue along Rue des Ormes. The road descends for 700 metres.

(1) At the junction with the D851, follow it to the right towards St-Eugène. After the bridge over the Surmelin, cross the disused railway line. At the crossroads, keep left towards Condé-en-Brie.

(2) After the bridge, turn right onto Rue Joyeuse; after 100 metres, follow the signpost to the right towards Crézancy. This street runs alongside the River Mousset. After the tourist sign, keep to the right and continue straight on along Rue du Mousset until you reach the last houses. Opposite, take a farm track which climbs towards the forest.

(3) After the water reservoir, continue to the right along the Aqueduc de la Dhuys. The path continues for 3.3 km on level ground. It is crossed three times by farm tracks, but is protected by metal barriers

(4) At the telephone exchange, head down the village track to the right towards Crézancy. After 120 metres, take the grassy track on the right and carry on straight ahead towards the Church of Notre-Dame.

(5) At the traffic lights, take Rue de l’Église on the left, leaving the church on your right and passing the town hall.

(6) After the agricultural college, turn right onto Rue de Paris (D1003) and follow the arrow straight on towards the Right Bank. Continue for 800 metres, passing the shops and the tourist information sign, then cross the same railway line and Surmelin.

(7) After the NTN factory, leave Rue de Paris and continue opposite onto the D85 (Rue de Launay) towards Connigis, then turn left onto the Route Impériale. At the last house, carry on straight ahead along the farm track. Follow the vineyards for 300 metres. At the junction, head down to the right towards the village and take the D85 on the left. Pass an old wash house that has been converted into a picnic spot.

(8) After 320 metres, leave the road and turn left onto the track leading to the vineyards. Turn right onto the track and walk along the bottom of the vineyards. After 900 metres, head down to the right towards the ‘château’ at the entrance to Connigis. Then continue left onto the D85 and, at the stop sign, follow the arrow towards St-Eugène to reach the Place des Tilleuls (S/E).
