Route de Saint-Antoine à Rouécourt

Historic Blaiseron circular loop
A walk through a hilly, partly shaded area, passing through historic sites and ending, for the final two kilometres, by following the banks of the Blaiseron (a tributary of the Blaise). The three villages you pass through are steeped in history, and for a while you follow in the footsteps of Joan of Arc.
In the footsteps of Philippe Lebon, starting from Charmes-la-Grande
This walk leads to Brachay, the birthplace of Philippe Lebon (1767), inventor of lighting gas produced by distilling wood. A bust in his honour stands in front of the town hall, and two houses that once belonged to him can also be seen.
The Val la Pie loop in Daillancourt
Starting from Daillancourt, a small, typical village built of the region’s white stone, this is a pleasant little walk that follows the local paths, including a short stretch through the communal forest. Towards the end of the walk, you’ll catch a glimpse of the villages further up the Blaise valley.
Morancourt via Les Convers from Mathons
From Mathons to Morancourt via the Bois des Convers and back via Haut de la Maize, making for a lovely, undulating walk through plains and woodland teeming with roe deer. You can’t complete the entire walk without spotting several.
Doulevant-le-Château circular loop
A walk steeped in history, as we pass through Doulevant-le-Château, where Napoleon stayed on two occasions. We also pass through Villiers-aux-Chênes, home to an ancient Merovingian cemetery, and finally through Dommartin-le-Saint-Père, where you can visit the Foundry Museum.
La Croix Jeanson between Dommartin-le-Saint-Père and Baudrecourt
Explore the plateau between Baudrecourt and Dommartin-le-Saint-Père and its many wind turbines, passing through Baudrecourt. Enjoy the pretty old stone houses, now renovated. You can also see a watercress bed in the Blaiseron riverbed.

Bois-dit Sartille between Courcelles-sur-Blaise and Mertrud
A walk in the forest between Courcelles-sur-Blaise and Mertrud. In spring, you can pick lovely bunches of lily of the valley here. In summer, when you’re looking for a bit of cool shade, this route is ideal as it runs entirely through the forest.
Between the Forest and the Chênoi
A short walk around Doulevant-le-Petit, through the forest. A very pleasant, easy stroll under the canopy. If you keep quiet, you may have the pleasure of spotting some of the many roe deer in the area.
Le Sarronvau
A lovely, varied walk through vineyards, forests, plains, valleys and plateaus, from Buchey to Buchey via Harricourt and Biernes. There are some steep climbs that lead to beautiful viewpoints.
The forest of Bailly-aux-Forges
This walk offers a wonderful immersion in the heart of the forest, in a setting of natural beauty and tranquillity. The route runs entirely through woodland. A walk particularly recommended in summer during hot weather.
The Bois des Ermites
A short, bucolic walk in the forest between Bailly-aux-Forges and Laneuville-à-Rémy. Most of the route is in the forest, which is very pleasant in summer. In winter, the southern part can be a little damp.
Lac des Leschères in Wassy
A picturesque walk around the Leschères Reservoir; well-maintained and signposted, this short walk is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. There are several picnic tables and a small open-air café available for your use.
Lac des Leschères and Montreuil-sur-Blaise Communal Forest
A pleasant walk around Lac des Leschères and through the Montreuil-sur-Blaise Communal Forest. It is utterly peaceful, with birdsong or the rustling of leaves in the wind, depending on the season. Lac des Leschères, known locally as ‘Digue’, is a former 40-hectare reservoir that fed the canal linking Brousseval to Saint-Dizier. The route takes you through the forest and along paths that are sometimes not shown on maps:the Visorando app is recommended.
La Wasseyenne
A short walk taking you to Lac des Leschères, then along the banks of the Blaise, ending in the heart of Wassy. It’s a route that’s at once idyllic, touristy and historic. You’ll pass by the old foundries of Montreuil-sur-Blaise.

A mixed and challenging route, mainly through woodland and passing by sites of both local and national historical significance!
Curel via Haut de Fosse from Chevillon
A beautiful summer walk along the canal, then discover the pretty village of Curel and climb through the forest to reach Chevillon. Beautiful views of the Marne Valley and the Châtonrupt Viaduct (in good weather).
Le Haut de Crémont from Chevillon
A very pretty walk through the forest and then along the canal, with a slightly steep climb at the beginning but which quickly becomes easier with the descent towards Sommeville. Picturesque spot: the passage under the railway line, then over the river on a metal footbridge.
