Le Haut de Crémont from Chevillon

Start at Place de l'Ariet, towards the end, passing in front of the schools.

(S/E) Follow the path along the stream towards Rue du Val Saint-Germain.

(1) When you reach the wash house, join Grande Rue, turn left and walk carefully on the pavement as the road is very busy. Pass in front of the Fourneau (former foundry), cross the road with caution and take the first street on the right.

(2) Start the climb of about 800 m (elevation gain of about 180 m) to the pylon - antenna.

(3) Leave the main road, which turns right, and take a forest track on the left. At the next two intersections, stay on the road that goes straight ahead. After 1200 m along the hillside, the path joins a T-junction.

(4) Turn left onto a path that descends quite steeply and joins a white path.

(5) Continue downhill on this road until you reach the entrance to Sommeville.

(6) Turn right onto Grande Rue de Sommeville and continue to Fontaines-sur-Marne, Place Claude Batier.

(7) Turn left onto a small grassy path between two houses (Chemin de l'Écluse). Go under the railway line, then over the river.

(8) After the lock, cross the canal on a small bridge and join the towpath. Follow the canal to the D9 road at the entrance to Chevillon.

(9) When you reach the Hôtellerie de France, follow the D9 to the left towards Chevillon station. After the station, turn right into the first street, Rue de la Côte des Loups. At the end of this street, turn left.

(10) Cross Rue du Stade, taking care. Continue straight ahead on a grassy path along the stream. You will come to the wash house you saw earlier.

(1) Continue along the path you took at the start, in the opposite direction, and return to Place de l'Ariet (S/E).
