Bois-dit Sartille between Courcelles-sur-Blaise and Mertrud

Park near the old level crossing at Courcelles-sur-Blaise.

(S/E) 100 m after crossing the cycle path, on the RD13 towards Mertrud, take the farm track on the right and follow it for about 800 m to a Y-junction.

(1) Turn left and, when you reach a fairly large crossroads in a right-hand bend, take the path leading off to the left, south-west (240°), and arrive at a T-junction on a stony track.

(2) Turn right onto this straight farm track and follow it for 2 km until you reach a gate.

(3) Just before the gate, take the path on the right; at the end, turn right and follow it to the end.

(4) Turn left onto a track marking the boundary of the parish (stone markers), follow this boundary (marked by stone markers) and pass six plots on the right.

(5) At the seventh, take the path on the right, heading south-east.

(6) At the next T-junction, turn right and then, at the first fork, turn left. Cross an east-west stone-paved path and continue straight ahead until you reach another T-junction.

(7) Turn right, pass two turnings on the left, and arrive at another T-junction. Turn left. This path takes a sharp right-hand bend, crosses a path at the boundary of the parish and arrives at another T-junction; turn left and continue to the end.

(8) First turn right then left and follow a wider path heading south-east. Pass two plots on the right, then turn right, staying on the same path which leads back to the Y-junction from the outward journey.

(1) Turn left and return to the level crossing via the path you took on the way out (S/E).

You can pick lovely bunches of lily of the valley between (3) and (5) (Les Arpents).
