Route of discovery of the centre of Ronchamp
Most people come to Ronchamp to see the Notre-Dame-du-Haut Chapel. However, there are a few other places of interest to discover in the village centre and surrounding area, such as the Ronchamp spinning mill, the Mining Museum, the Sainte-Marie Well and Ronchamp Church. This is a completely urban circular route designed to showcase Ronchamp's heritage. It is of course possible to combine this visit with another hike.
The Champagney Canal
Discover part of the Champagney Canal, which was started in 1884 and abandoned in 1909.
The old Haute-Saône Canal from Frahier to Ronchamp
A pleasant walk through the Chérimont Forest. You’ll discover the old Haute-Saône Canal, which was intended to link Frahier to Ronchamp. In winter, the trees have shed their leaves, offering a clearer view of the landscape. As the route runs mainly through woodland, the temperature remains cool and pleasant in summer. A short round trip takes you to the Chérimont Underground Passage.

Tour of the ponds and fountains in Chenebier
You may be surprised by the siren that, according to legend, haunts the ponds along this route.
A superb hike 15 km from Belfort and 10 km from Héricourt.
You will also discover a pretty village with its church and temple, beautiful countryside and forest landscapes with numerous ponds.
Along the route, information boards describe part of the history of this region and the legend of the mermaid.
Circular Échavanne-Frahier route via the canal, the woods and Frahier harbour
A pleasant walk through woodland and along the canal, covering two distinct sections. Best undertaken in dry weather or when the ground is well-drained. This walk can be shortened: see details in the description.
Les Grands Hauts from the Port de Frahier
From the port of Frahier, stroll along the old canal, then discover the Grands Hauts and the panoramic view of
the Ballon d'Alsace and the Planche des Belles Filles.
In the footsteps of Saint-Desle
A beautiful walk in the forest with a bog, numerous ponds and the Saint-Desle fountain. Very pleasant in summer.Please note that during the week, part of the route may be closed for military reasons (proximity to a firing range). Check with the town hall on 03 63 75 80 63. In this case, it is possible to go from point (4) to point (9) by following the tarmac road. (Route reduced by 4 km).
Le Cygle
Access the Plateau des 1000 Étangs via easy trails! You will appreciate the tranquillity of the surroundings. From the ponds to the sandstone plateau of the cygle, everything inspires mystery amid the moors and forests. Here and there, a few stone walls still emerge, remnants of a bygone era. Accessible by mountain bike, gravel bike and cyclocross bike! La Diaichotte route in Chagey
This short country walk takes you through the village of Chagey with its temple, church and war memorial to the 1870-71 war: the Diaichotte. During the walk, you will discover a rolling landscape with crops, livestock and a beautiful forest. You will also discover the Virgin Mary of the Geais and, next to it, a menhir or Pierre de Saint-Desle.

The thousand ponds starting from Mélisey
A very beautiful hike to do with the family to discover or rediscover foxgloves, which are the local flower in June, and stroll around the ponds. Leave a car at the Parc de la Praille car park at the end of the circular hike to avoid finishing the circular with 1.5 km of uninteresting and disappointing road compared to the rest.
Feedback from several hikers reports poorly marked paths that are difficult to find or completely abandoned.
Route de la Noie Villerand to Grand Rosbeck
This family-friendly route on the outskirts of Melisey will allow you to discover the Plateau des 1000 Étangs (Plateau of 1000 Ponds) via small wooded paths. The ponds along the route will amaze you, such as the Grand Rosbeck, one of the most beautiful in the Southern Vosges. After your walk, come and enjoy the Praille leisure area: swimming pool and water games in summer, mini golf, picnic areas. Restaurants and shops in the local area.
From Noie Villerand to Grand Rosbeck
This family hiking route, on the outskirts of Mélisey, will allow you to discover the Plateau des 1000 Étangs (Plateau of 1000 Ponds) via small wooded paths. The ponds located along the route will amaze you, such as the Grand Rosbeck, one of the most beautiful in the Southern Vosges.
The Remembrance Route from the Col de la Chevestraye towards Plancher-les-Mines
A beautiful hike in the Vosges Saônoises, a stone’s throw from the Planche des Belles Filles between Plancher-les-Mines and Fresse, just north of Champagney. Along this route, information boards recount the actions of the resistance fighters and the battles of the Liberation from September to November 1944. Superb views of the Planche des Belles Filles, the Ballon d’Alsace, Champagney and its basin, as well as the mountains of Haute-Saône, Haut-Doubs and the Swiss Jura.
